Abstract: A fixture for facilitating a piercing of a centrifuge tube is disclosed. The centrifuge tube includes a bottom portion and a sidewall extending from the bottom portion. The fixture includes a frame having a base and an elongated member. The elongated member extends substantially perpendicularly to the base and is configured to support the bottom portion of the centrifuge tube. Also, the elongated member defines a bore for receiving a needle for piercing the bottom portion of the centrifuge tube. Further, the fixture includes a plate engaged with the frame and disposed spaced apart from the base and substantially parallel to the base. The plate defines an opening disposed coaxially with the bore for receiving and supporting the centrifuge tube.
