    Abstract: A rotation compensation device is disclosed for a cable or similar which can be wound on and off a rotary drum. Between a rotary drum (2) supporting a cable section (1) which can be wound on or off and a fixed support (4) having a fixed cable section (5), is inserted a rotation compensation device (6) coaxial with the drum and comprising an intermediate cable section (13) wound in several successive spirals side by side and coaxial with the axis of the drum, all having the same winding direction and wound alternately from the center to the periphery for one spiral and from the periphery to the center for the next spiral, the free end of the first spiral being fixed and the free end of the last spiral being fast with the drum, the spirals being made respectively fast with each other when their individual rotation capacities are exhausted.
