  • Patent number: 4493489
Abstract: The fixing device is cheap and facilitates the mounting of the derailleur on the frame lug. This is achieved in providing on the support of the derailleur a wedging device which is rotatably mounted on the support with a high degree of friction and is adapted to cooperate with the frame lug. The support further comprises preferably an elastically yieldable device which is capable of clipping in the slot of the frame lug so as to center the support.

  • Patent number: 4484902
Abstract: The pulley comprises an annular portion which extends radially beyond a grooved ring around which a belt for driving the recorder extends. In order to permit fixing this pulley to a wheel hub flange of variable diameter by means of nose portions, each nose portion is formed at the end of an arm whose other end is pivotally mounted on the ring and can be retained in any of a plurality of angular positions which are defined by steps provided on the edges of slots in which studs formed on each of the arms are guided.

  • Patent number: 4470824
Abstract: The pulley of moulded plastics material is mounted adjacent to the outer side of the bicycle wheel flange, concentrically with this flange. The pulley comprises a grooved ring around which extends a belt for driving a distance recorder. From the periphery of the ring, on the side of the latter adjacent to the wheel flange, extend in generally radial directions are three arms which are angularly spaced 120.degree. apart. Mounted on the free end portion of the arms by means of a pivot pin are the end portions of tabs which are provided with a mounting device at the opposite end. This mounting device is adapted to engage with a wheel spoke so as to maintain the pulley in a centered position relative to the wheel flange.

  • Patent number: 4459848
Abstract: The device comprises an annular adaptor having a bottom provided with an opening so as to permit sliding the adaptor on the housing of the kilometer recorder and including a peripheral axial collar. The collar is provided with an assembling groove which receives a corresponding rib on a transparent window. An inner shoulder clamps the dial between these two elements. The window and the collar of the adaptor have shapes and sizes which may vary in accordance with the shapes and sizes of the dial.

  • Patent number: 4445374
Abstract: The recorder comprises a case of moulded plastics material which forms in its lower part a driving cable entrance which is externally screwthreaded and bearings in which a shaft carrying a magnet of a tachometer and transmission means can be respectively fitted. The case further comprises internal ribs for supporting a sheet which closes the case and is in one piece with flanges which support the shaft of an indicator needle of a speedometer and counting means of the distance recorder and guide the fitting of the assembly inside the case.

  • Patent number: 4407599
Abstract: The invention overcomes the drawbacks of a conventional device employing a screw and a nut, in particular as concerns the mounting of the derailleur. This is achieved by providing on a support plate of the derailleur an elastically yieldable fastener which is permanently fixed on the support plate and adapted to cooperate with the frame lug so as to ensure that the support plate remains in position relative to the frame lug. The support plate further comprises means for centering the support plate relative to the frame lug.

  • Patent number: 4274828
Abstract: This invention relate a derailleur gear-change assembly for a bicycle, comprising a support cage carrying a chain guide wheel and a chain tensioning wheel, and a support means for the cage, the support means being provided with a means for producing translatory movement of the cage under the action of a cable and for passing the chain from one sprocket wheel of a freewheel of the bicycle to another sprocket wheel.

  • Patent number: 4058020
Abstract: A bicycle derailleur gear changer has a device for guiding the chain and the device has chain-guiding and chain-adjusting pulleys which are mounted between the ends of two cheek plates. The device is movable to effect gear changes by transferring the chain from one to another of sprockets attached to the hub of the bicycle rear wheel. The cheek plates are specially shaped with radial extensions adjacent the chain-guiding pulley, the extensions terminating in turned over edges facing away from the pulley to prevent possible jamming of the gear changer when the chain is driven in the reverse direction. This is a continuation, of application Ser. No. 539,852 filed Jan. 9, 1975 now abandoned.

  • Patent number: 4002080
Abstract: A derailleur gear for a bicycle comprises a chain displacement means having a rigid linkage part movable transversely of the rear wheel in a direction generally along the axis of the rear wheel of the bicycle, the linkage part forming a side link in a support parallelogram linkage that includes vertically movable interconnected link portions connected to the rigid linkage part, the support parallelogram being in a plane generally transverse to the axis of the rear wheel. The chain guide pulley or sprocket is rotatably mounted on a spindle carried by a vertically movable portion of the support parallelogram linkage, as is an elongated cap or arm member that supports a chain tension pulley at a remote end from the spindle-connected end. A coil spring normally resiliently biases the vertically movable portions of the support parallelogram upwardly generally towards the rear wheel axis, and various motion limiting features are included.
