  • Patent number: 5342720
Abstract: A proofing element containing: (a) a photoconductive layer on an electrically conductive substrate; and (b) overlaying the photoconductive layer, a removable dielectric layer containing thermoplastic polymeric resinous particles which have steric stabilizer groups adhered to the surfaces of said polymeric particles, said steric stabilizer groups being in coordinated association with a charge directing moiety and said charge directing moiety having a charge dissipating agent in association therewith.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 28, 1993
Date of Patent: August 30, 1994
Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company
Inventors: Gregory L. Zwadlo, Roger I. Krech
  • Patent number: 5124220
Abstract: The use of a barrier layer between photoconductor layers and release layers in electrographic imaging materials provides enhanced performance, particularly in multiple use of the imaging materials in liquid toned imaging processes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 1990
Date of Patent: June 23, 1992
Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company
Inventors: David E. Brown, Susan K. Jongewaard, Roger I. Krech, Gregory L. Zwadlo
  • Patent number: 5108865
Abstract: An electrographic imaging process is performed by generating an electrostatic image, contacting the image with a temporary receptor sheet comprising a carrier layer, releasable release layer, and transferable adhesive layer secured to said release layer. The image is adhered to the adhesive surface, and that surface with the image thereon is then contacted with a final receiving (receptor) surface. The adhesive layer secures the toner image, adhesive layer, and the release layer (now a top protective layer) to the final receiving surface to generate the final image.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 1990
Date of Patent: April 28, 1992
Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company
Inventors: Gregory E. Zwaldo, Roger I. Krech, Donald L. Knutson
  • Patent number: 4260673
Abstract: A presensitized color proofing sheet and method of obtaining an image on one substrate is disclosed herein. The color proofing sheet is comprised of a color layer, a binder layer, both being light sensitive, and non-light sensitive solvent resistant barrier layer with the binder layer being present to provide a means of eliminating residual toning between adjacent layers in the structure.
