    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electronic device holder comprising a body having a back portion, a first body end, a second body end, and a first and second side portion. The device holder further comprises a clamp on the back portion of the body that is configured to removably attach and secure the body of the electronic device holder to a golf club shaft. The clamp comprises a first and second arm portion each comprising a support portion, an arcuate portion, and a guide portion. The guide portions assist in aligning and inserting the electronic device holder onto the golf club shaft. Furthermore the first body end, the first side portion, and the second side portions of the holder body comprise curved portions that assist in securing the electronic device into the holder. A plurality of shot characteristics is determined from the data. The shot characteristics are used to recommend golf clubs and golf club components that adjust a golfer's swing where the golfer exhibits the plurality of shot characteristics.

The portable electronic device comprises memory for storing instructions that are executed by a processor to perform the operations of analyzing data with the portable electronic device related to the position and motion of a putter at least one of before, during and after at least one putting stroke performed with the putter. The portable electronic device analyzes the data by utilizing a plurality of sensors within the portable electronic device including accelerometers configured to measure accelerations and gyroscopes to identify an angle of the putter during the at least one putting stroke. The portable electronic device is attached to the putter. A putting stroke characteristic can be determined based on the data generated from the sensors of the portable electronic device.
