  • Patent number: 9908704
Abstract: A system for assembling and dispensing an order made up of one or more individually packaged items from a plurality of different individually packaged items includes a storage module containing one or more packages of each of the items, and a conveyor having selectively assignable spaces configured to receive the packaged items associated with a particular order and to transport the packaged items to a processing location. A pick device is movable relative to the storage module and is configured to retrieve a package from the storage module. A transfer station adjacent the conveyor receives one or more of the packaged items from the pick device and an actuator associated with the transfer station moves the packaged items from the transfer station to the conveyor when the assigned space associated with the order is in the registration with the transfer station.

  • Patent number: 6514000
Abstract: A storage device for retaining one or more sheet items for access by a user. In one embodiment, the storage device includes a storage device cover having at least front and rear panels. One or more first binding members are associated with the storage device cover and extend through apertures formed in the sheet items to register the sheet items relative to the cover. One or more second binding members are hingedly connected to the storage device cover and preferably operate independently of the front and rear panels of the cover to engage the first binding members. Retained sheet items are able to be moved from a first position lying generally parallel with the rear panel to a second position distant therefrom. In an alternative embodiment, the storage device includes a single panel that carries the first and second binding members.

  • Patent number: 5490456
Abstract: A multiple station automated cap printer includes a plurality of printing heads mounted in fixed circumferentially spaced relationship to one another and are vertically movable between a raised non-printing position and a lowered printing position. A plurality of printing mandrels are disposed in fixed circumferentially spaced relationship to one another and rotatably mounted about a vertical axis between releasably fixed and precisely aligned positions below a respective one of the printing head. The mandrels include a cylindrical cap receiving platen which is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation extending in a radial direction relative to the rotational path of the mandrel. Each mandrel includes a trolley frame which carries the cylindrical platen in a linear path which mirrors the linear path of travel of a squeegee mounted within each of the printing heads while the platen is rotated through an arcuate distance equal to the linear path of travel of the squeegee.
