  • Patent number: 6576602
Abstract: Disclosed are nonaqueous, particulate-containing liquid laundry detergent compositions which are in the form of a suspension of particulate material, preferably including peroxygen bleaching agent and an organic detergent builder, dispersed in a liquid phase structured with alkylbenzene sulfonate anionic surfactant-containing powder. Such compositions provide especially desirable cleaning and bleaching of fabrics laundered therewith and also exhibit especially desirable pourability and chemical and phase stability.

  • Patent number: 5648327
Abstract: Disclosed are aqueous liquid detergent compositions comprising dispersed particles of a silicone-based suds suppressor system and a separately added moderately hydrophobic particulate silica stabilizing agent. Such a separately added stabilizing agent serves to retard coalescence and coagulation of the suds suppressor particles and thus enhances the storage stability of the suds suppressor-containing detergent compositions of this invention.

  • Patent number: 5494600
Abstract: The present invention provides a detergent additive comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible detergent active compound such as enzyme characterized in that said compound is mixed with a surfactant before absorption into a porous hydrophobic material such as silica, said porous material subsequently being coated with a hydrophobic material such as silicone oil. Detergent compositions containing said additive are also encompassed.

Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
Inventors: Athanasios Surutzidis, Roger J. Jones
  • Patent number: 5435523
Abstract: An improved trailer tongue jack including an outer tube and an inner tube which is slidable within the outer tube. The lower end of the inner tube carries a terrain engaging member, such as a caster wheel or sand shoe. A nut is mounted within the inner tube and is threaded on a screw and the upper end of the screw carries a bevel gear which meshes with a second bevel gear mounted on a handle. The bevel gears are supported within a polymeric cup mounted in the upper end of the outer tube and the cup also serves to rotatably support the handle as well as the upper end of the screw and further functions, along with a thrust washer, as a thrust bearing for the screw. The jack also includes an improved locking mechanism for locking the jack in either a vertical or horizontal position. A U-shaped swivel bracket is secured to the outer surface of the outer tube and the lower end portion of a locking member is mounted for movement within aligned openings in flanges of the swivel bracket.
