    Abstract: A system for transmission of at least power using inductive wireless coupling includes an environmentally sealed dongle and a mounting component which releasably mates with the dongle. The dongle is sized for use with one hand, and may be coupled by an umbilical to either a garment of the user or to a vehicle structure for example a seat, in which case the mounting component is coupled to the vehicle structure or to the garment respectively. The dongle and the mounting component include first and second inductive coils respectively and corresponding ferrite cores. The coils are positioned within the dongle and mounting component so that they are aligned for their inductive coupling when the dongle and mounting component are mated. The positioning and alignment of the coils provides a substantially closed magnetic path between the coils. The mounting component may be a receptacle.

The receiver has a second inductive coil positioned to inductively couple with the first inductive coil when the first portion of the weapon system is in the male-female mating engagement with the receiver. The first inductive coil is adapted for electrical connection to a weapon system platform electrical power supply and has a direct current resistance of less than or equal to substantially 0.2 Ohms so as to be adapted to provide charging power having a peak power of at least substantially 10 watts.

    Abstract: A wireless damage detector for ceramic armor plates includes an interrogator and a body armor ceramic plate. The interrogator includes an inductive primary coil having a resonant frequency. The plate includes a corresponding inductive secondary coil adapted to cooperate with the primary coil when the interrogator is positioned in an interrogation position wirelessly adjacent the plate. When in the interrogation position, the primary and secondary coils are inductively coupled, that is, form an inductive coupling, when the primary coil is energized at the resonant frequency. The plate includes at least one self-contained frangible continuity circuit electrically connected to the secondary coil. The inductive coupling induces an electrical current flow in the continuity circuit when the circuit is undamaged. A detector cooperates with the primary and secondary coils when the interrogator is in the interrogation position. The detector detects the inductive coupling. An indicator cooperates with the detector.

At least one primary inductive coupling coil is mounted on an article of apparel worn by the user, so as to place a primary coil adjacent a first intermediary inductive coupling coil on the first independent accessory. The energizing of the first intermediary coil energizes a second intermediary coil on the first independent accessory. The second intermediary coil, when energized, energizes a secondary coil on the second independent accessory for powering the use, including the charging of the batteries of that accessory.
