  • Publication number: 20230001357
Abstract: The present invention addresses to a high-pressure vessel for packaging hollow fiber type membranes with application in the field of separation process with contactors with membranes aiming at a compact device/piece of equipment configured for the packaging of hollow fiber type bundles that can be used for various fluid separation processes such as liquid-liquid, liquid-gas and gas-gas, capable of working at high-pressures, enabling adequate hydrodynamic conditions and easily scalable. It is called a module the general piece of equipment, consisting of the vessel (A or C), object of the present invention, and the membranes packed inside the vessel. This piece of equipment consists of a vessel inside which the membranes are placed (14), and two heads attached at the ends (B or D). Each head has two connection points, thus allowing this device to be used with membrane contactors-type separation systems, such as “classical” permeation systems (liquid-liquid, gas-gas, pervaporation).

  • Patent number: 10822978
Abstract: The invention relates to a part of revolution (60) intended to be rotated, comprising a hub (62) intended to be tightly adjusted on a rotary shaft (24), and a body (14) extending radially outwards from an axial end of the hub. In order to increase the critical speed up to which the tightening can be retained, the hub (62) comprises three relatively thick annular regions (68, 66, 70) separated from one another by two relatively thin annular regions (64a, 64b), in such a way that when the part of revolution is subject to a centrifugal force (F), the two relatively thin annular regions (64a, 64b) form privileged deformation zones acting as a double pivot. Such a part can advantageously be used as a piston for balancing in a turbine test bench or in a turbomachine.

  • Publication number: 20170307494
Abstract: The invention features a method for determining the worn shape of a deformable body in sliding contact with a deformable substrate. A wear depth w in an inward normal direction is determined at select points on a surface of the deformable body at each point in time t by integration of the following equation: dw d ? ? ? = kT n ? v b where k is a material dependent variable determined by physical tests, Tn is a contact pressure determined by finite element analysis of the deformable body in sliding contact with the deformable substrate at each point in time t, v is a constant sliding velocity between the deformable body and the deformable substrate, b is a constant determined by physical tests, and ?=tb is a computational time.

  • Patent number: 5687036
Abstract: A method for optimizing the write current used by a disc drive read/write transducer to write data to data tracks on a disc. The method optimizes the write current by selecting write currents that minimize the occurrence of repeatable, hard read errors. The method comprises writing a predetermined pattern of information to selected data tracks using each of a plurality of write current values and subsequently reading the data on the selected data track while recording the number of hard read errors for each of the write current values. The optimum write current value is selected at the write current value having the minimum number of hard read errors. An optimum write current value is determined for each of a plurality of locations on the disc and these write current values are stored in the disc drive. During subsequent disc drive write operations, these values are used to determine the optimum write current value for a selected data track through interpolation techniques.

  • Patent number: 4069634
Abstract: Air cushion vehicle structure comprises a platform with a grid frame formed of longitudinal girders crossing crosspieces, and an upstanding caisson or compartment formed of transverse frames connected by continuous systems of sheets. The lower segment of each caisson transverse frame is constituted by a portion of the upper beam of a crosspiece of the platform, and the lower longitudinal edges of the caisson are integrated with the upper beams of two girders. The crosspieces and some girders are lattice girders, but the others are ladder girders. Upper and lower beams of the girders and the crosspieces are connected by normal tubes welded to their feet, the oblique tubes of the lattices also being welded to the feet. The structure is especially appropriate for medium tonnage ACV.
