  • Publication number: 20120064986
Abstract: A device is provided for use in training a golfer to hit swing shots. The device comprises a golf club having a shaft and a handgrip portion. At least two indicators are attached to the shaft or to the handgrip portion. The indicators point along respective lines at respectively predetermined acute angles relative to a longitudinal axis of the shaft on either side respectively of the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The indicators are preferably secured to a particular golf club in a permanent manner wherein they are not intended to be removed therefrom. The indicators may comprise first markings on a plate that is attached to the shaft or they may comprise first markings on a handgrip that is attached to the shaft. The golf club may comprise a practice club.

  • Patent number: 8033926
Abstract: A device is provided for use in training a golfer to hit swing shots. The device includes an indicator securable to a shaft or handgrip of a golf club by an attachment device such that it points along a line at a predetermined acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. Preferably, the indicator is movable relative to the attachment device. In this case, a clamp is provided that allows movement of the indicator, such that it can be moved to point along a range of acute angles relative to the shaft and that can be tightened to clamp the indicator at a selected angle of the range. A plate with a scale marked thereon can also be provided and the indicator can include one or more needles that can be moved relative to the plate across the scale.

  • Patent number: 7641567
Abstract: Apparatus for training golfers in putting techniques and the method for its use are taught. The principle of the apparatus of the invention provides two reference points, one of which is adjustable and fixed relative to the head of a putter. By sliding the two reference points along a guidance surface, the putting head moves parallel to the guidance surface with the face of the putting head at a constant angle to the guidance surface. i.e. this is a putting stroke. One of the reference points may be a part of the putter head and the other is a member, removably attachable to the putter and adjustable so that a contact head touches, and is slidable along, the guidance surface.

  • Patent number: 7244187
Abstract: Apparatus for use by a golfer with a putter, and the method of its use, includes a member, removably and firmly attachable at/near its lower end to the shaft of the putter, and extending upwardly from the point of attachment and having an upper end, and the upper end of the member being adapted to contact an appropriate part of the anatomy of the golfer. When a golfer executes a correct putting stroke, the upper end of the member remains in contact with that part of the golfer's anatomy throughout the whole of the swing but, if the stroke is not correct, the upper end of the member either loses contact, or moves across, or presses harder into the anatomy of the golfer. A contact device in the form of a resilient ball or the like is fixed to the or each upper end. These are capable of giving an audible or visual warning of loss of contact with the golfer's body or of increased contact pressure with the body.
