  • Publication number: 20220390693
Abstract: Disclosed is a micro-optical interconnect component including an optical platform including, arranged onto a substrate, at least one optical alignment structure fixing an optical component and/or arranged as alignment structure to adapt another interconnect component. The optical platform includes a light deflecting element, having a total volume of less than 1 mm3, and made of a material having a refractive index higher than 1. The light deflecting element includes a face, facing the optical alignment structure, and has a curved reflecting surface so that an incident light beam onto the first face is deflected by an angle between 60° and 120°, the incident light beam may be provided from the outside or the inside of the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20190298483
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (4) in the form of a medical prosthesis (9, 17), medical osteosynthesis device, hearing aid or hearing aid housing, essentially made of metal, wherein the device (4, 9, 17) comprises at least one optical diffractive element with a grating (6) which is directly embossed in an exposed metal surface in the form of a security and/or identification element. The invention furthermore relates to methods for making such devices and to uses of such devices.

  • Publication number: 20190299266
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a metal stamp for embossing a nano- or microstructure on a metal device (4), comprising the following steps for producing a 3D structured embossing area (3) on the stamp: a) providing a master (30) having a structured surface (30a), and replicating said master (30a) in the surface of a soft stamp (31); b) forming an imprint (32) on the soft stamp (31a) using a cross-linkable material to form an imprint structured surface (32a), before, while or after contacting an opposite side of the imprint (32) with said surface portion of the metal stamp, and removing said soft-stamp (31) exposing said imprint structured surface (32a); c) etch-opening said surface (32a) using a first set of etching conditions; d) using a second set of etching conditions, different from the first ones, etching the surface of the metal stamp to form said embossing area (3).

  • Patent number: 8360659
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical pin-and-socket connector for the detachable connection of a plurality of optical cores (115) having an insert (112, 112?), in which the cores (115) are inserted on a first side, the cores (115) ending in said connector with the optical fibers (119, 120) thereof, and said connector having an expansion device (117, 118) on a second side, on which the beams exit the fibers (119, 120) in an expanded manner. A simplification of the assembly and installation is achieved in that the insert (112, 112?) comprises two separate partial elements (113, 117, 118) that can be assembled, one of which is configured as an expansion device (117, 118) and the other is configured as a retaining block (113) for receiving the ends of the optical cores (115).

  • Patent number: 7255489
Abstract: The invention relates to a connector for the detachable connection of at least one light waveguide to at least one optoelectronic component, which is arranged and electrically contacted as a chip directly to the surface of a support or a circuit board and which has an optical axis perpendicular to the support or circuit board. The light waveguide is provided with a fiber-optic plug connector at the end thereof for connection. The connector includes a base piece fixed to the surface of the support or circuit board, enclosing the optoelectronic component and includes a through-hole for the optical signal for exchange between the optical component and the light waveguide. The connector device also includes a coupling piece which connects to the base piece facing outwards and which comprises a socket opening for plugging in the standardized fiber optic plug connector.
