    Abstract: For selectively accessing data elements in a data library, an image data object which can be shown on a display is provided. A plurality of image subobjects are defined which respectively correspond to a portion of a representation of the image data object. The data elements are associated with at least a respective one of the image subobjects. One of the image subobjects is selected from a representation of the image data object on the display. The data elements which are associated with the selected image subobject are then reproduced. A data object which comprises the data elements in the data library, the image data object and the association between the data elements and the image subobjects is transmitted to a communication terminal via a telecommunication network for the purpose of selectively accessing the data elements.

The first alias identification (CID) is replaced by a second alias identification (CMID) at the receiver (4) or in a further exchange (3).     Abstract: A method is disclosed for centrally storing data in a remote server (4). Simultaneously, the contents of the memory area (42) can be searched by the user (1) for a particular item of information. The invention is characterized in that additional data are transmitted over an interface (14, 24) working at close range to a telecommunication device (11) of the user (1) and over the telecommunication device (11) to the remote server (4), and additionally stored in the memory area (42) allocated to the user (1). In this manner, even when error correction becomes impossible by the error correcting code for one row, interpolation remains feasible because there exist no odd-numbered data or even-numbered data contiguous to each other in the row.

In order to reduce the loss of such values in the cases of damage to the recording to the greatest possible extent, the values of the signals are coded at least twice in parallel and recorded onto several tracks. In one of the recordings, the sequence of values is modified in such a way that even major damage to the recording can be accommodated without producing non-correctable errors.
