  • Publication number: 20030221874
Abstract: A draft protection device (2) has a wind-blocking body (20; 21) that consists of at least two panel elements (20A, 20B, 20C; 21A, 21B) and partially encloses the weighing compartment of a balance (1) in which a weighing pan (15) is arranged. The wind-blocking body (20; 21) can be selectively positioned by hand in at least two different orientations. In each of the different orientations at least one opening is available for access to the weighing compartment. The wind-blocking body (20; 21) can be positioned by the user in such a way that the openings resulting from the differently oriented positions allow access to the weighing compartment from different directions.

  • Patent number: 6531665
Abstract: A balance has a balance housing (21), an operator console (4), and a pivot arrangement (17, 18, 22) between the balance housing and the operator console. The pivot arrangement works as a hinge, so that the operator console can be tilted about a transverse horizontal axis (A) that runs parallel to the balance housing. From a normal working position, i.e., projecting forward from the balance housing, the operator console can be folded upward into a rest position. The pivot arrangement has a certain amount of loose play in at least one radial direction. The operator console has a tilt-adjustable part (20) and a tilt-angle adjusting device (26, 27, 28, 29) with a secondary transverse tilt axis (B) located in an anterior portion of the operator console. A locking device (30b, 33) serves to secure the tilt-adjustable part in one of at least two selectable tilt-angle positions.

  • Patent number: 5787600
Abstract: A dryer mounted in a housing with a balance for determining the moisture content of material to be weighed which is in a dish placed in the balance and is subjected to a heat source. The dish is placed in a dish support device which can be placed in and removed from the dryer together with the dish. The dish can be inserted into the dish support device and removed from the dish support device manually and from the side. An upwardly bent inner edge of a support ring prevents impurities resting on the support ring from unintentionally dropping into the dish.

  • Patent number: 5617648
Abstract: A dryer mounted in a housing includes a precision balance arranged in the housing for determining the moisture content of material to be weighed which is placed on a weighing dish and is subjected to heat radiation from a heat source of the dryer. For making the material to be weighed accessible, the precision balance can be moved in and out of the housing. A duct for conducting an air flow is mounted between the weighing dish and the load-receiving unit which supports the weighing dish and is mounted above the measuring cell of the precision balance.

  • Patent number: 5583322
Abstract: A top-loading precision balance with a draft protection device which includes several walls connected to each other at the edges thereof, and a cover which closes the opening defined at the top of the walls. The cover is fastened through a horizontally extending hinge to one of the walls. The hinge of the cover includes a spring which acts against the direction of movement for closing the cover. The spring mounted in the hinge is a torsion spring which is fixed at both ends thereof. The frame forming the bottom of the draft protection device has on its bottom side a groove into which lugs mounted on the balance housing engage when the draft protection device is placed on the balance housing. A spring is fastened at the groove of the frame under the front side of the draft protection device. The spring engages in a groove of one of the lugs.

  • Patent number: 5444918
Abstract: An arrangement for aligning an apparatus unit with respect to the direction of gravity. The arrangement includes a first support device, a second support device and a third support device acting on a first support point, a second support point, and a third support point, respectively, of the apparatus unit. A measuring level serves to control the alignment of the apparatus unit. The first and second support devices are vertically adjustable. The three support points are arranged in the corners of a triangle. Two separate optically distinguishable partial areas are marked in the region of the measuring level, wherein the first partial area is intersected by a plane through the center of the measuring level extending perpendicularly to the line connecting the first support point and the third support point, and wherein the second partial area is intersected by a plane through the center of the measuring level extending perpendicularly to the line connecting the second support point and the third support point.

  • Patent number: 5148881
Abstract: Electronic weighing apparatus includes a main scale housing (1) within which is arranged a calibration weight housing (33, 133) containing a calibration weight (75, 175) operable between weight-applying and weight-removed conditions relative to horizontal projections (79, 179) that extend from load receiver (15) through wall openings (81, 181) into the calibration weight housing. The calibration weight is operable by a carrier member (57, 157) that is vertically movable by means of a pair of horizontally spaced wedge-shaped lifting members (39, 139) that are displaced toward and away from each other, respectively, by a spindle (41) having threaded portions (43a, 43b) of opposite pitch, which spindle is driven by a reversible motor (53).

  • Patent number: 4977969
Abstract: An electronic weighing apparatus is provided, including a self-contained calibration weight module that is operated by a motor to alternately connect and disconnect, respectively, a calibration weight relative to the vertically-displaceable parallelogram-guided load receiving member of the scale. The calibration weight is normally suspended in an inoperable condition by means of a pair of internally threaded sleeves rotatably supported in the cover portion of the housing of the calibration weight module. A motor is operable to rotate the sleeves and thereby lower lifting screws threadably connected therewith, whereby the calibration weight is lowered toward a supported position between and in engagement with a pair of parallel carrier arms that extend horizontally from the load receiver.
