  • Publication number: 20060259616
Abstract: A protocol indiscriminate edge device and method for supporting multiple diverse enterprise needs is disclosed. Supported enterprise services may include e.g., traditional PBXs, IP-PBXs, SIP phones, H.323 terminals, etc. In addition, one or more carrier inputs such as TDM, metro-Ethernet, cable, DSL, wireless, etc. may be accepted with the edge device and method. In one aspect, the device comprises one or more input modules, one or more output modules, and a processor. The processor includes a protocol aggregator and bridge operable to translate, manage and direct a plurality of concurrent data streams to multiple customers. In addition, the processor may optionally include a real time database to dynamically configure input and/or output data streams in real time and on-the-fly. The edge device is advantageous in that it allows carriers to support multiple diverse customers through a common access point.

  • Patent number: 4507357
Abstract: Shoe stiffeners are now comprising a textile fabric impregnated with a stiffening composition. In the past certain of these have been made by impregnating textile fabric with a solution of stiffening composition. Others have been made by impregnating textiles with an aqueous emulsion of stiffening composition but these have not been as stiff or creep-resistant in wear as corresponding weights of solution impregnated materials. In the invention a plasticizer (solid at wear temperatures and melting at temperatures commonly used in activating shoe stiffeners e.g. above about 50.degree. C.) and an aminoplast resin 3 to 30% based on dry weight of composition are included in the stiffening composition. The stiffeners are sufficiently stiff and creep-resistant to be satisfactory as replacements for many solution-impregnated stiffeners and may be stuck to the upper with hot melt adhesives or latex (if primed).
