  • Publication number: 20060294224
Abstract: A system for monitoring an electrical power distribution system monitors a selected device or quantity in the power distribution system and produces an output signal representing a sensed condition; receives and stores data relating to the sensed condition from the power distribution system; stores a display of at least a portion of the stored data relating to the sensed condition; produces a message in response to a change in the output signal representing a change in the sensed condition and transmits the message to remote recipients, the message including a hyperlink to the display so that a recipient of the message can use the hyperlink to automatically access the display to view data relating to the reported change in the sensed condition. In one specific embodiment, the message is an email message that is automatically transmitted to preselected remote recipients in response to the change in the sensed condition.

  • Publication number: 20050170319
Abstract: A method for teaching an individual to speak correctly using novel visual displays and supporting descriptive material. The visual display comprises a string of discreet visual segments illustrating volume, pace, pitch, melody and tone that guide the individual in creating specific sounds and speech patterns. The visual displays can be published in a book or pamphlet from or in electronic media such as CD, CD-Rom, DVD, or video.

  • Patent number: 6546229
Abstract: The invention is a method of teaching an individual how to correctly sing a song by using visual display that is displayed to the individual synchronously with the playing of the audio portion of the song. A plurality of visual cues included in the visual display guides the individual in following the musical tones in the song that is played along with the display of the visual cues. The visual display can be made available for use in a variety of ways such as on CDs, on the Internet, and the like. Alternatively, the visual display can be published in a printed publication for use with an audio recording of the song.

  • Patent number: 5214352
Abstract: An emergency lighting system utilizing standard nonemergency circuitry to provide power to all of the light fixtures in a facility during a power failure. This emergency lighting system uses an electronic inverter to convert d.c. power stored in batteries to either a high or low frequency a.c. power which is supplied to the facility's standard light circuitry. The high or low frequency a.c. power generated by the inverter causes the output voltage of the ballast within each of the facility's fluorescent and/or HID lamps to decrease, thereby reducing the illumination intensity of each of these lamps and saving battery power. Since the incandescent, electroluminescent or L.E.D. exit signs of the facility are generally insensitive to a change in the frequency of the a.c. power, each of these lights continues to operate at full brilliance. Alternatively, a chopper regulator may be used to lower the average voltage level of the power provided to the facility's light circuitry.
