Abstract: A fishing aid includes a tubular sleeve. The sleeve is divided into upper and lower compartments. The sleeve includes a pole holder including a biased bracket inside the upper compartment, and an indicator in the lower compartment. The indicator is triggered by a first contact and a second contact touching one another. The first contact is disposed in the upper compartment and the second contact is disposed on the pole holder. The spring actuating bracket is deflected by a fishing pole in the first compartment to cause the second contact on the pole holder to touch the first contact on the sleeve. A rod holder is disposed on an outer surface of the sleeve. The fishing aid further includes a rod with a spiked tip. The rod is received in the rod holder such that the sleeve is configured to be supported on the rod via the rod holder.
