Patent number: 8960889Abstract: The application describes a method and apparatus for controlling surface finish in the printing of a substrate in a plurality of passes using a curable print material and an ink jet printer having a radiation source. A first set of passes is carried out, including depositing ink on the substrate and emitting radiation from a radiation source toward the deposited ink. The emitted radiation applies a dose of radiation in a first range. A second set of passes is then carried out to deposit ink on the substrate. Further radiation is emitted from a radiation source toward the deposited ink, the emitted radiation applying a dose of radiation in a second range different from the first range.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2010Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Inca Digital Printers LimitedInventors: Paul Anthony Anderson, Roger Matthew Walkley

Patent number: 6434526Abstract: Speech recognition software is provided in combination with application specific software on a communications network. Analog voice data is digitized at a user's location, identified as voice data, and transmitted to the application software residing at a central location. The network server receiving data identified as voice data transmits it to a speech server. Speech recognition software resident at the speech server contains a dictionary and modules tailored to the voice of each of the users of the speech recognition software. As the user speaks, a translation of the dictation is transmitted back to the user's location and appears in print on the user's computer screen for examination and if necessary, voice or typed correction of its contents. Multiple users have interleaved access to the speech recognition software so that transmission back to each of the users is contemporaneous.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1998Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Frank Cilurzo, Roger Matthew Miller

Patent number: 5918918Abstract: A yieldable plastic collar is mounted on the latch housing to surround the entry recess of the housing and be engaged by the striker to thereby isolate the striker from noise producing contact with the housing. The plastic collar has a base portion attached to the housing and a striker contacting portion projecting from the base portion into the entry recess of the latch housing. The contacting portion is connected to the base portion by an integrally molded living hinge so that the contacting portion yields to remain in full time contacting engagement with the striker irrespective of shifting movement or misalignment between the housing and the striker.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1997Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventor: Roger Matthew Mosley

Patent number: 5776296Abstract: Provided is a process for removing organic materials from semiconductor wafers. The process involves the use of subambient deionized water with ozone absorbed into the water. The ozonated water flows over the wafers and the ozone oxidizes the organic materials from the wafers to insoluble gases. The ozonated water may be prepared in-situ by diffusing ozone into a tank containing wafers and subambient deionized water. Also provided is a tank for the treatment of semiconductor wafers with a fluid and a gas diffuser for diffusion of gases directly into fluids in a wafer treatment tank.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1995Date of Patent: July 7, 1998Assignee: Legacy Systems, Inc.Inventor: Robert Roger Matthews
