  • Patent number: 7587807
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a stator of an electrical rotating machine that is configured to have a rotor mounted inside the stator. The stator has a laminated magnetic circuit having a stack of magnetic metal sheets disposed substantially parallel to a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rotor of the machine. The magnetic circuit has teeth that delimit longitudinally oriented slots. The method includes the step of installing electrically conductive wires in the slots and forming winding heads at the two axial ends of the magnetic circuit and installing this assembly on a vertical axis. The assembly is trapped between an outer sheath, forming part of the final motor, and a removable inner core substantially occupying a volume reserved for the rotor. The conductive wires in the slots are impregnated under vacuum with a slot-impregnating composition including a heat-setting resin and a filler, and the composition is polymerized.

  • Patent number: 6875297
Abstract: A process for making a composite product in which reinforcement fibers are subjected to a composition based on a thermohardening resin and a photoinitiator appropriate to the irradiation by which the composition is to be treated. The resulting pre-impregnated material is introduced into a prepolymerization device, in which the pre-impregnated material is prepolymerized by appropriate irradiation. Lengths of the precomposite are applied to a support, the shape of which is dictated by the shape of one face of the composite part which is to be made, and are stacked one on another in a suitable number and placed snugly against the shape of the support, and the stack is subjected to final molding at a suitable pressure and temperature in order to polymerize the resin and to join the different lengths of precomposite.

  • Patent number: 6242598
Abstract: A process for preparing 2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-4.6-diaryl-s-triazines in three steps starting with cyanuric chloride is described. Step 1 involves the nucleophilic (basic) displacement of one chlorine atom with a phenolic moiety. Step 2 involves a Friedel-Crafts reaction using a Lewis acid catalyst (preferably aluminum chloride) to replace the remaining two chlorine atoms with aryl groups such as xylyl. Finally, step 3 involves replacing the phenolic moiety with resorcinol using either a Lewis acid or protic acid catalyst or combinations thereof. Some additional processes only peripherally related to the three-step process outlined above are also described for the preparation of various s-triazine compounds. The s-triazines prepared are useful as UV absorbers for the stabilization of organic substrates against the adverse effects of actinic light.
