  • Patent number: 7347687
Abstract: The invention concerns a distraction appliance for orthodontic, orthognathic and maxillofacial surgery purposes on the mandible for the distraction of a frontal bone segment, wherein the appliance is formed by a first distractor module and a second distractor module, wherein the first distractor module is essentially u-shaped, approximated to a dental arch, and has a mid-segment and on both sides of it an end-segment, wherein the corresponding end-segment is connected to the mid-segment by means of a linear distraction element and wherein each end-segment provides fixation parts, and wherein the second distractor module is related to a frontal bone segment to be moved, guiding the same and having fixation parts.

  • Publication number: 20040152046
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for orthodontic and/or orosurgical purposes, the device comprising an elongated, dimensionally stable, self-supporting profiled element, some sections of which are curved and approximate to the vestibular side of a dental arch, the profiled element being held by at least one front fixing element that can be anchored in the bone and is allocatable as a rule to the interforaminal region of the submaxilla or to the anterior mandible, and the profiled element forming at least one anchorage point, upon which a retaining member is acting, for a segmental distraction or a bone-supported orthodontic tooth displacement.

  • Patent number: 6322566
Abstract: Intraoral distractor for callus distraction in the human lower jaw with a proximal (posterior) and a distal (anterior) fixation part and a first displacement mechanism for a linear lengthening of the distance between the two fixation parts so as to lengthen the body of the mandible or the ramus of the mandible in the area of an osteotomy. The distractor is characterized in that the invention provides for a distraction element with a joint, the axis of articulation of which is oriented in such a way as to allow for a change in the angular position to each other of the body of the mandible and ramus of mandible in the area of the osteotomy. The one fixing part is assigned to the ramus of mandible and the other fixing part to the body of mandible. The distraction element is joined to the fixing parts in such a way that it is situated outside the tissue in the oral cavity and on the buccal side of the teeth in the vestibule.
