  • Patent number: 5416067
Abstract: A dry, water-soluble, substituted phenoxy and/or benzoic acid herbicide is prepared by grinding and dry blending the herbicide in acid form with anhydrous trisodium phosphate or tripotassium phosphate which functions as a solid solubilization medium. From about 0.6 mole to about 16.9 moles of the medium is provided for each mole of active herbicidal agent in the initially dry blended mixture. Herbicidal agents are selected from the group consisting of 2,4-D, 2,4-DB, MCPP, MCPA, dichlorprop, dicamba, and chloramben.

  • Patent number: 5280008
Abstract: Dry, water-soluble powder, substituted heterocyclic acid, substituted phenol herbicidal compositions, combinations thereof, or in combination with phenoxy and/or benzoic acid herbicides, are prepared by grinding and dry blending the herbicide in acid form with a dry, particulate solubilization medium selected from the group consisting of diammonium phosphate, dipotassium phosphate, disodium phosphate, trisodium phosphate or tripotassium phosphate. At least about 1 mole of the medium is provided for each mole of active herbicidal agent in the initially dry blended mixture. The dry blended mixture may be packaged in suitable containers such as paper bags, and added directly to a quantity of water to form a solubilized herbicidal formulation containing from about 0.1% to about 2-1/2% of the active herbicide and which is suitable for direct application to vegetation to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 4331815
Abstract: In the manufacture of an N-benzyl-N-isopropyl amide by reaction of N-benzyl-N-isopropylamine with an acid chloride, the amide product is obtained in better purity and yield by employing excess benzylisopropylamine as the acid accepting agent and recovering the amine for re-use by reacting the amine hydrochloride by-product with aqueous sodium hydroxide.
