  • Patent number: 5125527
Abstract: A box for equipment to be built into a wall or the like comprises at least one inlet provisionally closed by a knock-out. The knock-out is delimited by a line of reduced strength. A pull member is fastened to it to facilitate the application of a traction force to it.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 28, 1991
Date of Patent: June 30, 1992
    Assignee: Legrand
Inventors: Roger Parlatore, Jacques da Rocha, Christian Combas
  • Patent number: 5000607
Abstract: A device for fixing an object to a support comprises, in a plate forming part of the object, at least one hole for a fixing to pass through. A gasket is applied to the plate at the location of the hole, and a bearing washer is disposed between the gasket and a head of the fixing. An immobilizing device associated with the bearing washer opposes movement of the bearing washer parallel to the plate and to allow movement of the bearing washer perpendicular to the plate. A confinement device associated with the gasket prevents the gasket escaping from the space between the bearing washer and the plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 25, 1990
Date of Patent: March 19, 1991
    Assignee: Legrand
Inventors: Roger Parlatore, Alain Leluc, Robert Brousse
  • Patent number: 4843200
Abstract: A switch mechanism comprises, movably mounted between a fixed yoke and at least one fixed contact, at least one conductive contact arm which is articulated to the fixed yoke, which is itself conductive. The arm is controlled by an operating member available to the user to assume one or other of at least two positions in one of which it bears against the fixed contact through a bearing area and in the other of which it is spaced from the latter. A double pivot is used for articulating the conductive contact arm to the fixed yoke, which comprises two separate pivoting areas parallel to each other, one for each of said two positions of the conductive contact arm. The conductive contact arm itself comprises two distinct contact areas for cooperating each with a respective one of the pivoting areas.

  • Patent number: 4793059
Abstract: An automatic grounding means for a wiring device is provided by a spring clip formed from a single piece of wire in a generally U-shaped configuration, bent upwardly at both ends. The bent end portions are inserted through a pair of openings on opposite sides of the conventional mounting screw slot in the ears on the yoke of the wiring device, and are further bent either toward or away from one another to maintain the clip in firm engagement with the yoke without welding or other such permanent connection. When mounted on the yoke, parallel legs of the clip extend across the screw slot and are spaced by a distance less than the diameter of the mounting screw which thereby contacts the legs, flexing them outwardly, as the mounting screw is passed through the slot and between the clip legs to engage the flush box in which the wiring device is mounted. The engagement of the clip with the yoke assures a low resistance grounding path from the yoke to the clip to the screw to the flush box.
