Patent number: 10536421Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for facilitating publication of a media file at a scheduled time. A media aggregation client sends media and a scheduling request to a media scheduling system. The media scheduling system determines when it is time to publish the media and, when the time is appropriate, sends a notification to a media publishing client. In response to the notification, the media publishing client downloads the media to a scheduled publishing application, transfers the media and the metadata to a social network application, and the social network application publishes the media to a social network.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2018Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: Victory Square Media Inc.Inventors: Ian MacKinnon, Matthew Robert Smith, Roger Patterson

Patent number: 9491569Abstract: A method of homogenizing expected data-harvest yields, the method comprising: selecting a population of data-sources; selecting a quantity of data as a data-harvest maximum, Hmax; and dividing the population into a set of groups according to the data-harvest maximum Hmax such that: each group includes at least one data-source; and each group generates an expected data-harvest yield, Hyield, that is less than or equal to the data-harvest maximum Hmax, Hyield?Hmax.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2015Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES, LLCInventors: Sandip Sandhu, Behrouz Heshmatipour, Mark Roger Patterson, Vincent Carl Star

Patent number: 9392747Abstract: A crop feeding roller for a header includes a plurality of finger units within the roller each having a pair of fingers projecting outwardly for engaging crop outside the peripheral wall of the roller. The peripheral wall has opposed finger guide holes associated with the pair of fingers. Each finger unit including an inner member carrying the fingers and containing an elongate guide slot transverse to the axis of the roller and a stationary guide member within the guide slot at a position within the roller arranged to cause the inner member with the fingers of each of the finger units to reciprocate during the rotation of the roller. The guide slot is shaped with at least one curved lobe to one side of a transverse center section so that the slot can be S-shaped or C-shaped to improve the dwell time and swept area obtained by the finger movement.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2014Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: MacDon Industries Ltd.Inventors: Roger Patterson, John Edward Enns, David James Jordan

Publication number: 20120216499Abstract: A header designed for tall crops includes a sickle knife for cutting at the ground, an auger behind the knife, a conditioning system at a discharge for forming a swath and a reel with pivotal bat fingers controlled by a linkage which co-operates with a cam of the reel. An upper auger extends across the header parallel to the cutter knife above and in advance of the reel with its flight driving the crop inwardly. Vertically standing sickle knifes extend between the ends of the frame and the upper auger and each includes forwardly extending top and bottom dividers. The conditioning system includes two fluted rollers and a third parallel roller located behind the nip between the fluted rollers so as to engage the material as it emerges from the nip to force the material round the upper roller to further bend the crop material.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2012Publication date: August 30, 2012Inventors: Roger Patterson, Robert Bennett

Publication number: 20070080517Abstract: A coupling device that requires no manual actuation to achieve coupling features a locking bolt movable along a hole extending into a mouth of a hook body to secure a coupling pin therein. A control lever pivotally connected to the locking bolt opposite the mouth end is biased toward a locked position in which motion of the locking bolt is blocked. To engage the coupling pin and the hook mouth, the coupling pin and an operable pin extending through the hollow locking bolt are brought into contact. This causes an end of the operable pin opposite the mouth to push against the control lever to unlock it from the latching position. The coupling pin pushes the locking bolt out of the mouth so that it can pass by further into it, at which point the lever and bolt return to the locked positions to secure the coupling pin inside.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2005Publication date: April 12, 2007Inventor: Roger Patterson

Publication number: 20050284124Abstract: A feed roller primarily for feeding crop into a feeder house of a combine harvester is located above and behind a feed draper and includes an outer flight and retractable fingers for feeding the crop through the zone behind the draper and into the feeder house. The fingers rotate about a finger axis offset from the roller axis so that they extend to a maximum at the draper and are retracted behind the roller to release the crop. When the roller is reversed to release a blockage, the fingers are also reversed in direction and the finger axis is moved rearwardly to the opposite side of the roller so that the fingers are extended behind the roller at the feeder house and retracted at the draper. This movement is done automatically on reversing the roller and uses power from the reversal to move the finger axis using a clutch. An anti-distortion wheel is mounted on the finger shaft to prevent retraction of the finger ends into the roller which can cause damage by loss of proper guidance.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2005Publication date: December 29, 2005Inventor: Roger Patterson

Publication number: 20050016147Abstract: A draper header for a combine harvester includes two side drapers each running from an outer end guide roller at a first end of the header to an inner end guide roller adjacent the discharge location of the header and a central feed draper located at the discharge location and including a front guide roller just behind the cutter bar and running to a rear guide roller in front of the feeder house of the combine harvester. An auger is located between the discharge rollers with a front edge of the flight forward of the rear end of the discharge rollers to feed the material inwardly and underneath the auger to the inlet of the feeder house. A pan is located underneath the auger and is mounted on a common structure with the feed draper for common pivotal movement about a transverse horizontal axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2003Publication date: January 27, 2005Inventors: Roger Patterson, Bruce Kidd

Patent number: 4159786Abstract: A copy machine having a decorator for applying toner to a latent image is disclosed. The decorator is fitted with a control for sensing the level of toner in the decorator sump which control automatically maintains the amount of toner in the sump at the desired level. The control includes a toner level sensor which is a vibrating rod driven by a decorator roll.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 1977Date of Patent: July 3, 1979Assignee: E. I.
