  • Publication number: 20020088098
Abstract: A quick fastener provides for the securing together of a plurality of thin sheets of material, and is especially well suited for securing together multiple sheets of paper of a document or the like. The present fastener essentially comprises two resilient components, with a first component having a post extending therefrom and the second component having a mating receptacle formed therein. The post includes a bulb on the distal end thereof, with the receptacle having a relief formed therein for accepting the bulb of the post. The post resiliently snaps into the receptacle to secure the two components together. The outer surfaces of the two fastener components are essentially identical and form a symmetrical external configuration when assembled.

  • Patent number: 5402902
Abstract: An extension device for use in mounting electrical devices flush with a finished surface of a new wall covering which has been installed over an existing wall covering is disclosed. The extension device abuts an existing electrical box to isolate the electrical device from its surrounding environment. The extension device include a rectangular ring formed by a plurality of peripheral walls. A peripheral flange extends inwardly from the peripheral walls. The peripheral flange provides an abutment surface for engaging the front of the existing electrical box. Upper and lower inwardly directed formations, respectively, extend inwardly from the upper and lower peripheral walls. The inwardly directed formations are provided with openings which are oriented so as to be permitted to align with the threaded apertures in an existing electrical box. The extension device is secured between an electrical device and a respective electrical box.

  • Patent number: 5272281
Abstract: An electrical outlet safety cover is made in three simple pieces: a four walled body, a cap having cord egress slots, and a small closure slidably insertable into and removable from the four walled body. The closure optionally provides top or bottom cord egress, the cap slots providing frontal and partial side egress. The cap entraps the body and small closure upon assembly, assembly being secured by a screw, threaded through the cap and engaging preexisting threads in the electrical outlet. The safety cover components are uncomplicated and inexpensive, yet rugged. The body is selectively positioned to provide different cord egress configurations. Electrical cords are not constrained to describe sharp bends within the cover, and may not be pulled laterally so as to bend the cord plug prongs.
