Abstract: A substantial disadvantage of known three-point bolt locks is their limited usability. Thus, all known locks are either so-called “handle-operated” locks or “key-operated” locks, i.e. locks in which the latch bolt and/or at least the additional bolts are retracted and extended by means of a handle or a key. An alternative use of known locks for “key operation” or “handle operation” is not possible. The invention relates to a novel multipoint lock bolt which, when installed in a door or in a gate, can be set by relatively simple positioning or adjustment of a functional element either for handle operation or key operation. A further development of the invention envisages providing the lock according to the invention with a two-part follower whose halves are superposed in the axial direction.
