  • Patent number: 9005079
Abstract: A drive system and method includes a gearbox system, a first hydraulic motor driving a first input shaft, a second hydraulic motor driving a second input shaft, a drive pump driving the first and second hydraulic motors, and a system control for controlling the drive pump, the clutch assembly, and the first and second hydraulic motors. The gearbox system includes the first input shaft having a first input gear driving a first output gear on an output shaft, the second input shaft having a second input gear driving a second output gear disengageable from the output shaft, and a clutch assembly for engaging the second output gear with the output shaft. The clutch assembly includes a clutch to engage the second output gear with the output shaft, and a fluid access channel through a rotary manifold to provide pressurized fluid to activate the clutch.

  • Publication number: 20060127634
Abstract: An oriented strand board panel and a method for making the same are provided. The OSB panel has at least three layers, namely, a top surface layer, a core layer, and a bottom surface layer. A first cover layer may be provided on the top surface layer. Likewise, a second cover layer may be provided underneath the bottom surface layer. The first cover layer and/or the second cover layer may have a smaller strand angle, defined by an average deviation of strands from a longitudinal axis, than the top surface layer and the bottom surface layer. The smaller strand angles for the first cover layer and/or the second cover layer provide the OSB panel with greater stiffness and strength along the strong direction of the panel without significant compromise of strength and/or stiffness in the weak direction of the panel.

  • Publication number: 20050051921
Abstract: A process for making engineered lignocellulosic-based panels with superior strength and dimensional stability. The process comprising adding to green lignocellulosic particles a low-nitrogen content, high molecular weight, phenol-formaldehyde resin before the green particles are dried. The resin is added in an amount from about 1 to 25 weight percent based on the dry weight of the green lignocellulosic particles. The resin has a nitrogen content of from about 0 to 3%, a viscosity of from about 20 to 2000 cps at 20° C., and a molar ratio of formaldehyde/phenol of from about 1.2 to 3.0. The green lignocellulosic particles treated with the resin are dried until the particles have a moisture content of from 1 to 8%. A second resin is added to the dried particles and then the dried particles are consolidated under heat and pressure to form the engineered panel.
