  • Patent number: 8172424
Abstract: Disclosed exemplary solid state light fixtures use optical cavities to combine or integrate light from LEDs or the like. In such a fixture, the cavity is formed by a light transmissive structure having a volume, and a diffuse reflector that covers a contoured portion of the structure. A circuit board has flexible tabs mounting the light emitters. A heat sink member supports the circuit board and is contoured relative to the shape of the light transmissive structure so that the tabs bend and the emitters press against a sufficiently rigid periphery of the light transmissive structure. TIM may be compressed between the heat sink member and the opposite surface of each tab. Various contours/angles of the periphery of the light transmissive structure and the mating portion of the heat sink member may be used.

In such a fixture, the cavity is formed by a light transmissive structure having a volume, and a diffuse reflector that covers a contoured portion of the structure. A heat sink member supports a flexible circuit board so as to position the light emitters to couple light to the transmissive structure and provide effective heat dissipation. The circuit board has flexible tabs mounting the emitters. When installed in the fixture, the tabs bend and the emitters press against a sufficiently rigid periphery of the light transmissive structure. TIM may be compressed between the heat sink member and the opposite surface of each tab. Heat conductive surface pads and heat conductors through vias through the tabs conduct heat from the emitters to the heat sink member, e.g. through the TIM.

  • Patent number: 5419305
Abstract: An oven safety door latch has a pair of elongated latch arms pivotably connected to each other and to a base at a point intermediate their length. The arms project beyond the base and have end portions with opposed latching noses. A pawl is rotatably mounted on the base adjacent an end of the arms and has a blocking element engageable with the arms. A spring biases the latch arms and thereby the noses towards each other, and a stop element limits this movement of the noses towards each other. A thermally responsive element is operatively connected to the pawl to rotate it between a first position in which the blocking element is spaced from the arms, and a second position in which the blocking element is engaged with the end portions of the arms to limit their movement and thereby the movement of the noses away from each other to maintain the latch in engagement with the oven door.

  • Patent number: 5025776
Abstract: An oven door hinge having stable positions in closed, broil and open positions of the door includes an elongated support member which extends along the side of the door, and a hanger with an elongated arm portion which removably seats in a recess adjacent the lower side of the oven cavity. The hanger also has a depending hinge portion which is pivotably supported on the support member adjacent its lower end. A translation member has its lower portion pivoted to the hanger arm portion, and an upper portion which is disposed within the support member. A spring is connected between the upper portion of the translation member and the upper end portion of the support member so that opening of the door displaces the translation member relative to the support member and hanger and tensions the spring. The support member and translation member have cooperating positioning elements to bias the door into its closed position and to hold the door in its broil position.

  • Patent number: 5004276
Abstract: An oven door latching system has a latch bolt with a latch arm at one end and its other end pivotably connected to a lever through a resilient connection. The lever in turn is pivotably connected to a positioning device which has a positioning slide reciprocatable in a housing and biased towards the lever. A recessed camming surface in the slide seats a follower arm which is adapted to follow a camming surface therein which define two stable positions for the follower arm which are spaced apart in the direction of motion of the slide and at which the follower arm will seat and releasably lock the slide. When the positioning slide is moved, pivotal motion is imparted to the other end of the lever, and the connecting structure enbables pivotal motion of the latch bolt.
