  • Patent number: 11454286
Abstract: A yoke assembly for receiving a shaft, the yoke assembly including a main section including a pair of planar surfaces and a shoulder portion; and a subsidiary section with a pair of planar surfaces extending between a proximal wall and a distal wall. The subsidiary section is configured and arranged to be seated and securely attached to the first main section such that the proximal wall of the subsidiary section opposes the shoulder portion of the main section, and the pair of planar surfaces of the main section oppose the pair of planar surfaces of the subsidiary section. The main section and the subsidiary section are configured and arranged to be joined together to form a receiving aperture therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6041676
Abstract: A locking winch includes a rotatable shaft coupled to a bracket adapted for connection to a structure such as a trailer, truck, hoist, etc. Wrapped around the shaft is a cable, rope or chain and connected to one end of the shaft is a hand operated crank for rotating the shaft in a first direction for retracting the cable about the shaft or for rotating the shaft in a second, opposed direction for removing the cable from the shaft, with the crank movable between first and second positions on the shaft. A sprocket fixedly mounted to the bracket includes a plurality of spaced teeth disposed about the periphery thereof. A torsion spring coupled to the hand operated crank urges the crank to the first position. A locking pin attached to the hand operated crank is disposed between adjacent teeth on the periphery of the sprocket when the crank is in the first position to prevent rotation of the shaft and either withdrawal of the cable from or take-up of the cable on the rotatable shaft.

  • Patent number: 5913338
Abstract: A loop pipe for redirecting a flowing fluid such as water 180.degree. is formed by a casting process using a mold and includes a linear intermediate portion and first and second linear end portions each disposed on a respective end of the intermediate portion and forming a continuous inner channel for passing the fluid. The loop pipe is in the form of a single piece casting formed in a mold using three elongated, linear inserts which are removable from the casting once formed to provide the casting with the aforementioned continuous inner channel for re-routing the fluid 180.degree.. The two end portions of the loop pipe are provided with connecting arrangements such as threads or barbs and the casting is adapted to receive a threaded plug to close the aperture through which the middle insert forming the linear intermediate portion of the loop pipe is removed from the casting. The loop pipe may be cast from plastic or any of the more commonly used metals such as iron, aluminum or zinc.

  • Patent number: 5678772
Abstract: A universal coupler for use on a tower leg assembly of an irrigation system for joining an outboard drive shaft of a drive wheel gear box of circular cross-section and known size to a motor-driven square drive shaft of unknown size. The universal coupler includes, along a first longitudinal end thereof, a shaft receiving structure for fixedly containing the outboard drive shaft, and along the opposite longitudinal end, a V-shaped cradle dimensioned to accommodate therein adjacent flat wall surfaces of the square drive shaft. A flexible, shock absorbing disk joins the V-shaped cradle and the outboard drive shaft receiving structure in a manner whereby each shaft is rotated at the same speed in response to a rotational force imparted on the other. L-shaped bolts are provided to facilitate clamping the square drive shaft to the V-shaped cradle using fasteners.

  • Patent number: 5660084
Abstract: Apparatus for tightly wrapping a package such as disposed on a pallet in a thin film such as for shipping or storage includes a rotating deck adapted to receive the pallet and package to be wrapped. The deck is directly coupled to and supported by a gear box driven by an electric motor. The apparatus further includes a film wrap supply in the form of a roll which lets out the film for wrapping around the package as the deck and package rotate. A manually adjustable tensioner allows for adjusting the stretch of the wrapping film on the package, while the film wrap supply may be adjusted vertically to permit wrapping the package over its entire vertical dimension regardless of the width of the roll of film wrap. A foot control allows an operator of the apparatus to rotate the deck and the package being wrapped while vertically moving the film wrap supply roll-to fully enclose the package within the wrapping film.
