  • Patent number: 11235109
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a heater arrangement in a device arranged to heat smokable material is described. The method includes implementing a heater control loop, which control loop performs steps in one or more successive control periods. The control steps include determining a current remaining on time for a heating element of a heater arrangement based on the current rate of change of temperature, a target temperature and a current temperature of a zone of the device arranged to heat smokable material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2017
Date of Patent: February 1, 2022
    Assignee: Nicoventures Trading Limited
    Inventors: Mitchel Thorsen, Roger Watkins

  • Publication number: 20180067156
Abstract: Systems and methods of applying repeatable stress pulses to an integrated circuit device under test using the charged device model (CDM) test is provided. The CDM spark conduction using discharge pin implemented in sections allows the spark environment to be controlled increasing the stress reproducibility and ability to apply the CDM test to devices with fine pitch terminals.

  • Publication number: 20170309164
Abstract: A wireless sensor reader is provided to interface with a wireless sensor. The wireless sensor reader transmits an excitation pulse to cause the wireless sensor to generate a ring signal. The wireless sensor reader receives and amplifies the ring signal and sends the signal to a phase-locked loop. A voltage-controlled oscillator in the phase-locked loop locks onto the ring signal frequency and generates a count signal at a frequency related to the ring signal frequency. The voltage-controlled oscillator is placed into a hold mode where the control voltage is maintained constant to allow the count signal frequency to be determined.

  • Publication number: 20160029956
Abstract: A wireless circuit includes a housing having at least one opening, and sensor connected to the housing at the opening. The sensor includes a first layer having a first dimension and a second layer having a second dimension shorter than the first dimension. The second layer may be positioned entirely within the housing and a surface of said first layer may be exposed to an exterior of the housing.
