  • Patent number: 5107086
Abstract: A collector cell having at least three interconnected prongs. The prongs can be triangular shaped tabs interconnected at the base by a lead. The cell can be utilized individually as a microwave energy collector and accelerator for forming an energy field or plasma. The cells can be formed in a connected, enclosed array to form a uniform energy field. The cells can be utilized individually or in an unconnected array as an accelerator.

  • Patent number: 4877933
Abstract: An apparatus and method for heating a food product in the presence of a radiant energy source includes a collector having a plurality of radiant energy reflective cells enclosed in a radiant energy transparent material. The cells are formed by a number of tabs that collect the radiant energy incident on the collectors and form a radiant energy field to uniformly heat the food product. The tabs can be manufactured from a material having a graduated thickness or gradient. The distribution of power within the collector cells is controlled by varying the number or size of the cells as well as the shape, angle or position of the tabs physically or automatically. The cells can be formed on a ceramic substrate, which can include a ferrite like coating, such as tin oxide.

  • Patent number: 4771155
Abstract: An apparatus for uniformly heating a product in the presence of a radiant energy heating source includes a plurality of radiant energy reflective collectors encased in a radiant energy transparent material. The collectors are formed by a number of tabs that collect the radiant energy incident on the collectors and form a radiant energy field such that a food product is heated to a uniform temperature throughout.

  • Patent number: 4683362
Abstract: A plurality of cells installed in a microwave oven reflect the microwaves and improve temperature uniformity of food heated in the oven. The cell includes a reflector which moves with variation in the response of a temperature sensor and varies the concentration of reflected microwaves incident on the food.

  • Patent number: 4539454
Abstract: This invention relates to a new device for faster and more thorough cooking employing a series of power cells wherein the microwaves in the oven strike a series of mirrored surfaces above the floor of the housing which are provided with pivots secured to a housing and spaced therefrom and a tube depending from a clear, nonflexible, plastic plate, and the cells are placed above the bottom wall of the oven to reflect the rays to the material being cooked.
