Patent number: 9534150Abstract: The present invention incorporates to a new temporary, reusable, retroreflective, raised pavement marker design. The pavement marker utilizes a water soluble, adhesive embedded in a fibrous base material for application to the pavement. This temporary adhesion method allows the pavement marker to be reused after removal from the pavement. The semispherical shape of the marker provides increased lateral stability. The recesses on the top surface of the marker protect the retroreflective microspheres from loss of retrorefectivity from vehicular abrasion. The round shape also allows the marker to be used to form arrows and other pavement markings.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2014Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Inventor: Roger Young

Publication number: 20150159023Abstract: A unique intumescent composition containing a high weight % solids content of approximately 58%, from a particular mix of solid ingredients including a mineral filler, ceramic fibers, a binder, an expandable graphite, and a solid thickener. The solids are mixed in approximately a 42% liquid carrier solution comprising water, a defoamer, and a dispersant. The resulting intumescent composition is an inert, inorganic, intumescent coating that can be coated or laminated onto paper, wood and/or OSB to act as a fire shield. The product also can also be coated onto steel, aluminum foil, kraft paper, fiberglass or any combination of the foregoing to provide a fire-shielding facer for manufactured insulation boards, sheetrock, polyisocyanurate boards, polystyrene boards, or other construction boards. The product provides excellent structural support to the resultant char after a fire in order to further protect the substrate from deterioration.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2013Publication date: June 11, 2015Inventors: Craig Lipka, John Philosophos, Roger Youngs

Publication number: 20130201179Abstract: A method of seismic analysis is utilized to produce a display by extracting one or more horizons, where each of the horizons are defined by a plurality of data points. A computer may be programmed to select a plurality of computation points on each the horizons. The information in at least a portion of the first group of data points and the second group of the data points is combined to produce a plurality of combination points. The plurality of combination points may be utilized to produce combination point mappings, which are displayed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2012Publication date: August 8, 2013Inventor: ROGER YOUNG

Patent number: 7896134Abstract: A wheelchair lift assembly is provided. The wheelchair lift assembly includes a frame, a platform, and a lift mechanism associated with the frame. The lift mechanism includes a stabilizing arm and at least one lift arm member having a first end connected to the platform. The first end of the lift arm member pivots and translates relative to the platform as the platform is reciprocated between raised and lowered positions. The wheelchair lift assembly also includes a drive assembly. The drive assembly selectively provides a driving force to the lift mechanism without directly providing the driving force to the stabilizing arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2006Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Lift-U, division of Hogan Mfg., Inc.Inventors: Donald Morris, Alan R. Publication number: 20100223878Abstract: An intumescent coating composition, coating process for structural panels, and a method of installing the coated and notched structural panels that decreases the fire safety (FSR) rating effectively to meet applicable fire safety approval standards for commercial structures. The intumescent composition comprises sodium silicate, cenospheres, water, and sodium tetradecyl sulfate, and may further comprise either magnesium hydroxide, zinc borate, and amorphous silica, or mineral fibers. The intumescent composition may be applied to wood products, including lumber and any manufactured wood products such as wood structural panels (plywood, OSB, or composite panels), for protection against high temperatures and long periods of heat exposure. The coated panels are notched about their peripheral edges. During installation, the notched, coated panels are installed side-by-side to the framing so that the panels' notches form widened recessed seams, and the seams are then filled with a fire resistant caulk.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2009Publication date: September 9, 2010Inventors: Craig Lipka, John Philosophos, Roger Youngs

Patent number: 7343245Abstract: A method of seismic analysis is disclosed for extracting information relating to lithology, porosity, fluids, and AVO types and/or displaying the extracted information. In one possible embodiment, AVO points are plotted and a distance and/or angle is utilized for extracting this information. Various portrayals of the extracted information displays may be produced including displays wherein the extracted information is then displayed in terms of colors for respective x, y, z locations. The AVO points may or may not be normalized based on a shape of a cluster of the AVO points prior to extraction of the information.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2005Date of Patent: March 11, 2008Assignee: eSeis, Inc.Inventors: Roger A.
