  • Patent number: 4244510
Abstract: A bucket-like carton has a polygonal cross section and a flexible bail is connected to handle hinges extending from the upper rim of the carton. An outer wall and an inner reinforcing wall forming the sides of the carton are stamped from a single sheet of corrugated board and are joined by the handle hinges. Tabs on the outer wall fold inwardly to overlap the inner wall. The wall tabs also overlap similar tabs extending outwardly from a recessed bottom and a recessed lid. The several layers of cardboard are stapled at both the top and bottom of the carton. The resultant sturdy carton provides the convenience of a bucket and has high strength at a low cost.
