  • Publication number: 20250055520
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for beamforming using an antenna array. Such methods include, for each pair of beamforming vectors (bk,bl) of a codebook comprising a plurality of beamforming vectors corresponding to orientations (1 . . . N), determining at least one corresponding pair of tapering vectors (tk,tl) based on minimizing at least one function f(?,?), such that when tapered beamforming vectors (tk-bk, tl-bl) are applied to the antenna array for transmitting concurrent beams of orientations (k,l), k?l, radiated power in orientations (k,l) are at least (1??) of peak radiated powers in orientations (k,l) of beams formed by (bk,bl); and the beams of orientations (k,l) have sidelobes that are lower than ? in respective orientations (l,k). Such methods also include transmitting data concurrently in orientations (i,j), i?j, based on weighting the antenna array by tapered beamforming vectors (ti-bi, tj-bj) corresponding to orientations (i,j). Embodiments also include nodes configured to perform such methods.

  • Publication number: 20240406750
Abstract: A method for identifying floors in a building in need of a network related action based on radio signal parameter values comprises obtaining location data of a geographical location. The method includes obtaining, for a set of user equipment, radio signal parameter values from measurements made at the geographical location. The method includes identifying, by comparing horizontal positions of the user equipment with the location data, a first subset of the user equipment. The method includes associating, by comparing vertical positions of the user equipment in the first subset of the user equipment with the location data, second subsets of the user equipment with floors of the building. The method includes identifying floors in need of a network related action as any of the floors associated with one of the second subsets of the user equipment for which the second performance value is below a second threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20240086475
Abstract: Insofar the smallest unit of referenceable content on the WWW was a web page. The disclosure and claims of the instant application teach methods, systems, apparatuses etc. to refine the granularity of web content and move away from a page centric approach. With the benefit of this invention, future generations will be able to work with portions of content.

  • Publication number: 20240080686
Abstract: Mechanisms for estimating a ratio of indoor-to-outdoor traffic or user equipment distribution. A method is performed by a network node. The method includes obtaining, for a set of user equipment, radio signal measurements. The radio signal measurements have a probability distribution function. The method includes separating the probability distribution function into a set of clusters. Each cluster has its own individual probability distribution function. The method includes estimating the ratio of indoor-to-outdoor traffic or user equipment distribution by predicting, from the individual probability distribution functions of the clusters, which, if any, of the clusters represent indoor user equipment and which, if any, of the clusters represent outdoor user equipment. The method includes performing a network related action in accordance with the ratio of indoor-to-outdoor traffic or user equipment distribution.

  • Publication number: 20240061064
Abstract: Wireless communication equipment (12, 16) detects a targeted signature over time in a Doppler spread and/or an angular spread associated with a wireless communication device (12). Based on detecting the targeted signature, the wireless communication equipment (12, 16) detects a transition (14) by the wireless communication device (12) between an indoor environment (8) and an outdoor environment (6). In some embodiments, based on detecting the transition (14), the wireless communication equipment (12, 16) adapts one or more communication parameters, adjusts resources allocated to the wireless communication device (12), and/or initiates handover of the wireless communication device (12).

  • Patent number: 11853374
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus—using conventional web browsers with no custom software installation—for enabling a user to share at least one portion of content is disclosed. The user selected portions of content, or references to them, are stored in a repository and are made available for subsequent viewing to a potentially larger universe of users. Neither group: the users selecting the portions of content, nor the users viewing the previously selected portions of content, need to install any special software to avail all these benefits. The invention discloses automatically creating and embedding a portion of content from an internet document into another document. Using the teachings from this invention publishers can share their content across the internet in a manner so as to get increased exposure, back links, branding, advertising, and virality—and a plethora of other benefits.

  • Patent number: 11301532
Abstract: A method, system, and program for searching for a portion content contained in a document is disclosed. Accordingly, a search engine, or some other application, analyzes a document with a user selected content portion to determine a match. The particular algorithm for determining the match will vary depending upon the particular implementation. Based on this analysis, one or more portions of the document are automatically highlighted in situ.

  • Patent number: 11288686
Abstract: This invention teaches how one can identify user interests based upon portions of content i.e. at a finer level of granularity than known until now. Existing computer technology could identify that a user was interested in animals if he viewed a page about animals. The instant invention allows a user to select/generate/reference/isolate a portion of content, and s/he can do this without having to install additional software to his/her browser/device. Thus, we can now know if a specific user is interested in cats, and another in dogs based upon the content portions s/he chose to reference/interact with. A profile of a user's interests can be developed across a multitude of documents. This profile of the user's interests can then be leveraged for commerce such as: better, targeted, contextual advertising; developing analytics; and far superior insights into user interests can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 11144605
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for transmitting content items using search history profiles are provided. For example, a first request to access a web page may be received. The first request may be associated with a device. The first request may be analyzed to determine a query. The query may be stored in a search history profile associated with the device. The search history profile may comprise indications of a plurality of queries. A second request for content may be received from a second device associated with the search history profile. Responsive to receiving the second request, a content item may be selected from a content items database based upon the query. The content item may be transmitted to the second device. The device may be the same as the second device. Alternatively and/or additionally, the device may be different than the second device.

  • Patent number: 11063902
Abstract: The technologies described herein identify multiple electronic devices belonging to the same group. A computer system receives, from network accessing applications of a plurality of electronic devices, internet protocol (IP) trajectory information about the network accessing applications via a network. The IP trajectory information includes a user identifier, a list of IP addresses associated with each of the network accessing applications, and timestamps specifying times each of the network accessing applications accesses the network. The computer system identifies and removes commercial IP addresses from the list of IP addresses, analyzes IP trajectory information to retrieve a most commonly used IP address for each of the network accessing applications during a certain period, and determines that different network accessing applications belong to the same group if the most commonly used IP addresses for the different network accessing applications are the same.
