  • Patent number: 9167588
Abstract: The various embodiments include methods and apparatuses for avoiding interference scenarios during concurrent communication of dual-technology wireless communication devices. Interference scenarios may be avoided by predicatively determining the potential for interference between the channels of multiple communications on the dual-technology wireless communication devices. For a pending communication, a predicative calculation may be made to determine whether the channel of the pending communication and the channel of an active communication may interfere with each other. If so, the communication with a lower priority may switch to the highest powered channel that does not interfere with the higher priority communication. Once the interference condition expires, and the lower priority communication persists, its channel may switch to a higher power channel that will not cause interference with any active or pending communications.

  • Publication number: 20150227640
Abstract: A computer device (2010) with a file system having clusters and meta data. The computer device (2010) includes a processor (1030) and a storage (1025) coupled to the processor and having physical representations of instructions so that the processor is operable to reserve (230) at least one of the clusters and to create a log record when meta data for the file system is to be updated by a write (240) of such meta data beforehand to such a reserved cluster, and then set (250) at least one state entry to substantially represent readiness to write the meta data to the file system.

  • Patent number: 9003354
Abstract: A file system which ensures that some of the (desired) files (“linear files”) are stored in corresponding exclusive blocks (i.e., a block that stores data corresponding to one file only). Due to such a feature, rewriting of data corresponding to other files would not cause data corresponding to linear files to be relocated/rewritten. Such a feature may provide reliable and steady retrieval of data of the corresponding file from a flash memory organized as sectors. According to another aspect, some of the files (“non-linear files”) are stored in non-exclusive blocks (i.e., multiple files can share the same block or the same file can span multiple blocks without contiguity).

  • Patent number: 8986536
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for recovery of spent lubricating oil. The evaporation of hydrocarbon fractions from spent lubricating oil is carried out in three steps. The first step is at approximately 150-1030 mbar and between 70-240° C. in which is greater than 99% water, greater than 99% of ethylene glycol and greater than 50% of hydrocarbon molecules with normal boiling point up to 310° C. are evaporated from spent oil. The second step is operated at 6-30 mbar and 200-2900 C in which predominantly gasoil and light vacuum gasoil fractions are evaporated. The third step is operated at 250-320° C. and 0.5-15 mbar in which mainly heavy vacuum gasoil (boiling range of 425 to 570° C. on ASTM D-1160 test) is evaporated from spent oil.

  • Patent number: 8429331
Abstract: Storage optimizations by directory compaction in a file allocation table (FAT) file system. The method comprises determining if a cluster comprises a deleted content, indicating that the deleted content is deleted, and updating an entry of a FAT associated with the cluster to indicate that the cluster is free. The method may also comprise indicating that the deleted content is deleted and modifying a metadata of at least one of a file of the cluster and a directory of the cluster according to a specified protocol.

  • Publication number: 20090282064
Abstract: Systems and methods for on the fly compression and storage device for compressing/decompressing data are disclosed. In one embodiment, an on the fly compression and storage system includes a file system for forwarding data for storing, one or more compression drivers, with one of the compression drivers invoked for compressing the data forwarded by the file system into compressed data, and a storage device for storing the compressed data. The compressing of the data and the storing of the compressed data are seamlessly performed. A status of the storage device is dynamically updated to the file system based on the compressing of the data.
