    Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for monitoring services in a multi-service system and detecting deviations in health metrics and/or business metrics of one or more of the services. In response to detecting a metric deviation for a given service, an enhanced message is generated detailing specific data associated with the detected deviation. The enhanced message is generated and transmitted to a recipient address associated with a services that may be affected by the deviation. An action service monitoring messages being received by a domain associated with the recipient address analyzes the information included in the message content. According to the analysis of the message, an action to be performed is identified according to the detected deviation and one or more action requests are generated and transmitted to one or more components and/or services of the multi-service system.

When a user initiates a checkout transaction on a merchant site, the system uses this preference information to attempt to identify a payment service that is both supported by the merchant site and preferred by the user. One of the methods includes receiving a request from a content server associated with a merchant site for a preferred option associated with a user, the request including information indicative of the user. Information describing options associated with the user are accessed, and the accessed information and information identifying options accepted by the merchant site are used to determine a preferred option. Information identifying the preferred option is provided to the content server.

A first payment transaction associated with a first user is submitted for processing by a particular payment issuer along with a request for an exemption from an authentication requirement. It is determined whether the first payment transaction was successfully processed. Subsequently, it is determined whether to include the request for the exemption from the authentication requirement for a second payment transaction associated with a second user in submitting the second payment transaction for processing with the particular payment issuer based at least in part on whether the first payment transaction was successfully processed.
