  • Patent number: 11930427
Abstract: A method for configuration enhancements on Access Point Name (APN) or Data Network Name (DNN) selection in a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives a message from a mobile communication network. In particular, the message includes information on an input source of an APN value or a DNN value. Based on the information, the UE uses the APN value or the DNN value to request establishment of a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection or a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session with the mobile communication network.

  • Publication number: 20230397070
Abstract: A method of improving user experience for initial IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration is proposed. When a UE boots up or leaves flight mode, the processor of the UE determines a period Tn of time for IMS PDN initial setup on a single Access-Stratum Network, starting from sending IMS PDN setup request. Upon expiration of Tn, the UE aborts the IMS PDN set up request, and performs IMS PDN set up on another Access-Stratum Network. As a result, it allows the UE to rapidly use IMS service when boots up or leaves flight mode.

  • Patent number: 11575716
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a mobile communication network. The controller determines whether the mobile communication network supports IMS services. The controller establishes a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection or a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session with the mobile communication network for the IMS services via the wireless transceiver in response to the mobile communication network supporting the IMS services. The controller sends application data on the PDN connection or PDU session via the wireless transceiver.

  • Publication number: 20220369197
Abstract: A method for enhanced call control using User Equipment (UE)-triggered fallback procedure is provided. A UE starts a guard timer in response to initiating or receiving an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) call in a mobile communication network which utilizes a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The UE determines whether a condition for call continuation in the mobile communication network is met when the guard timer expires. The UE triggers a fallback from the first RAT to a second RAT in response to the condition for call continuation in the mobile communication network not being met.

  • Patent number: 10873535
Abstract: Various solutions for avoiding packet fragmentation with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may determine a first maximum transmission unit (MTU) configuration of a session via a first network interface. The apparatus may determine a second MTU configuration of the session via a second network interface. The apparatus may determine a tunnel overhead size between the second network interface and the first network interface. The apparatus may select a transport protocol to generate a packet according to the second MTU configuration and the tunnel overhead size. The apparatus may transmit the packet via the second network interface.

  • Publication number: 20190149583
Abstract: A method of improving initial IMS registration after 403 Forbidden response is proposed. A UE sends a SIP register to an IMS server for initiating IMS registration. The initial IMS registration fails and the UE receives a SIP message with a 403 Forbidden response code. In the 403 Forbidden response code, the IMS server includes an XML body and uses the <reason> header value of the XML body to indicate an error type (e.g., temporary or permanent) followed by a retry-after timer value. As a result, the network can indicate to UE whether the IMS registration rejection is permanent or is due to some temporary internal failure. By adding the retry-after timer value, the network can indicate to UE when to retry the next IMS registration.

  • Publication number: 20070233448
Abstract: Validating simulation models. A computing environment includes a performance scenario of a system. The performance scenario includes device models defining device behavior and/or capacity. The performance scenario further includes interconnections between one or more device models. A static model analysis of the system is performed. The static model analysis analyzes at least one of configuration of device models defined by the performance scenario or interconnection of device models defined by the performance scenario. A static capacity analysis to analyze device model limitations as they relate to statically defined performance scenario characteristics is performed. An application constraints validation can be performed. This includes comparing the performance scenario to software deployment best practices and rules related to models similar to the performance scenario. A simulation runtime validation may also be performed to evaluate dynamic device usage and latencies to simulate the system.
