  • Publication number: 20240340083
Abstract: Techniques are described for implementing free space optical (FSO) ground-to-satellite communications. In general, an optical ground station communicates optically with a satellite via a ground-to-satellite FSO communication link. Embodiments described herein deploy at least two FSO relays at one or more aerial platform altitudes to effectively segment the ground-to-satellite FSO communication link into three or more FSO sub-links. Each FSO sub-link has better optical link performance (e.g., lower outage probability) than a single direct link. The FSO relays can include tropospheric FSO relays on low-altitude platforms and/or stratospheric FSO relays on high-altitude platforms, and architectures can use the FSO relays in a serial and/or parallel manner.

  • Publication number: 20240335171
Abstract: A waveform processing system including a patient monitor, a display device, and a processor configured to control the display device to display a location in a stream of waveform data of a segment including a specified event such as aberration or variation in the waveform data, wherein the location of the segment is identified based on aggregating outputs of an AI model performing sliding window inferences on the stream of waveform data. Performing the sliding window inferences on the stream of waveform data may include dividing the waveform data into a plurality of overlapping chunks, each chunk comprising consecutive data values extracted from the stream of waveform data over a specified duration, and inputting each chunk into the AI model to generate arrays of output values indicating a presence or absence the segment, which may then be aggregated.

  • Publication number: 20240338125
Abstract: Systems and methods include negotiating a primary bias state for primary and secondary storage sites when a mediator is temporarily unavailable for a multi-site distributed storage system. In one example, a computer-implemented method comprises detecting, with the primary storage site having a primary storage cluster, a temporary loss of connectivity to a mediator or a failure of the mediator. The computer-implemented method includes negotiating the primary bias state and setting the primary bias state on a secondary storage cluster of the secondary storage site when the secondary storage cluster detects a temporary loss of connectivity to the mediator, determining whether the primary storage cluster receives a confirmation of the secondary storage cluster setting the primary bias state, and setting the primary bias state on the primary storage cluster when the primary storage cluster receives the confirmation.
