Patent number: 12450760Abstract: An exemplary processing system of a computer-assisted surgical system identifies an object in a surgical space, accesses a model of the object, identifies a pose of the object in the surgical space, aligns the model with the pose of the object to define depth data for the model in the surgical space, and generates a depth map in the surgical space for at least a portion of the object based on the depth data for the model. Corresponding systems and methods are also described.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2020Date of Patent: October 21, 2025Assignee: Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.Inventors: Heath Feather, Rohitkumar Godhani, Brian D. Hoffman, Brandon D. Itkowitz, Adam T. Schmidt, Siddarth Sen

Patent number: 11896441Abstract: A measurement system accesses first and second images captured respectively from first and second vantage points by first and second cameras included within a stereoscopic endo scope located at a surgical area associated with a patient. The measurement system receives user input designating a user-selected two-dimensional (“2D”) endpoint corresponding to a feature within the surgical area as represented in the first image, and identifies, based on the user-selected 2D endpoint, a matched 2D endpoint corresponding to the feature as represented in the second image. Based on the user-selected and matched 2D endpoints, the measurement system defines a three-dimensional (“3D”) endpoint corresponding to the feature within the surgical area. The measurement system then determines a distance from the 3D endpoint to an additional 3D endpoint corresponding to an additional feature within the surgical area. Corresponding systems and methods are also described.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2019Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.Inventors: Rohitkumar Godhani, Brian D. Hoffman

Patent number: 11765026Abstract: A method of communicating with a slave device includes sending a first device discovery message from the communicator to the slave device using a first communication protocol; if the slave device responds to the first device discovery message using the first communication protocol, establishing communication between the slave device and a control device using the first communication protocol; if the slave device does not respond to the first device discovery message using the first communication protocol, sending a second device discovery message from the communicator to the slave device using a second communication protocol; and if the slave device responds to the second device discovery message using the second communication protocol, establishing communication between the slave device and the control device using the second communication protocol.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2021Date of Patent: September 19, 2023Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: John T. Shen, Benjamin H. Feingold, David B. Bennett, Rohitkumar Godhani, Mithun Gundi, Robert L. Jones, III

Patent number: 11115265Abstract: A system for automatically establishing a network. The system includes a main device group including a main wireless transceiver device, a control device and a first network interface and a secondary device group including a secondary wireless transceiver device, a secondary device group slave device and a second network interface. The main wireless transceiver device wirelessly communicating with the secondary wireless transceiver device to instruct the main device group and the secondary device group to form a network wherein the control device communicates with the secondary device group slave device over the first network interface and the second network interface, respectively. The control device wirelessly controls functions of the secondary device group slave device with instructions sent over the network.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2019Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: John T.
