  • Publication number: 20220325991
Abstract: A liner for a shaped charge, the liner being a generally conical liner, in which the liner is formed from metal or metal alloy and in which the liner has an internal apex angle in the range of approximately 105-110 degrees.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 7, 2020
    Publication date: October 13, 2022
    Applicant: Alford IP Limited
    Inventors: Roland ALFORD, Sidney ALFORD
  • Patent number: 9746292
Abstract: Container (10) is generally cylindrical except for a longitudinal concave groove (11) extending along its entire length. Upon explosion, the contour of this groove (11) results in a focussing effect on the wall material due to the oblique angle at which the expanding cylindrical detonation wave front impacts upon its inner wall. This produces the forging of a rough rod-like projectile (111) which, being coherent, maintains its velocity and consequently travels much further than the randomly shaped projectiles (101).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 14, 2014
Date of Patent: August 29, 2017
    Assignee: ALFORD RESEARCH LIMITED
    Inventors: Roland Alford, Sidney Alford
  • Patent number: 9322624
Abstract: A liquid-jacketed disrupter comprising a container (101) for receiving liquid and housing a receptacle (120) for explosive material, in which the container comprises one or more indentations (115) which result in the generation of liquid jets upon detonation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 2010
Date of Patent: April 26, 2016
    Assignee: Alford Research Limited
