Abstract: There is provided a system and method for interactive multi-player broadcast game, the system comprising a plurality of controllers; each controller capable of providing a set of game inputs to a game server in response to the broadcast; wherein the game server is operable to control game play and scoring; the game server further operable to either calculate or receive the latency data associated with each game controller depending on the type of controller and offset the latency during a time-sensitive game play. The above system allows different controllers to be used without biasing against relatively ‘dumb’ controllers such as the Plain Old Telephone (POT). Further, the above system allows massively multiplayer game to be played in the context of an interactive TV broadcast game with POT as controllers.

A mobile phone-in the possession of a user is capable of sending and receiving communication messages, including recommendations. A first message is composed including a mobile phone number allocated to the mobile phone, a unique identifier of the recommender, and a reference code for a good or service. The first message is parsed, a referral record is created, and the results of the recommendation are recorded.

Abstract: A method and a system for performing financial transactions between parties having clients (15a, 15b) with an electronic messaging facility and a banking account facility with a financial institution. Each party has an electronic messaging address (CIN) associated with the electronic messaging facility and a banking account number (CAN) associated with the banking account facility (27) thereof. A financial service provider server (13) is interfaced with the electronic messaging facility to handle communications between the clients (15a, 15b) of the parties and is also interfaced with the banking account facilities (27) of the parties to perform the financial transaction. The electronic messaging address (CIN) of each party is linked with the banking account facility therefor, and thus the banking account number(s) (CAN) thereof, within a database (45) associated with the server (13) to facilitate the financial transaction.
