  • Patent number: 7202572
Abstract: A generator/motor system and a method for operating this generator/motor system with which the filter currents are reduced. The generator/motor system has, for this purpose, a rotational field machine (DM) and a pulse-controlled inverter and filter capacitors (C1, C2). The pulse-controlled inverter is formed by two identical pulse-controlled inverters (PWR1, PWR2) which each have half the rated power. During operation, depending on the necessary rotational speed switching over is performed between a star circuit in which only the first pulse-controlled inverter is operational, and a single phase circuit in which both pulse-controlled inverters are operational. In order to obtain a torque which is comparable to the prior art, even if only one of the two pulse-controlled inverters is used, the rotational field machine has approximately twice the number of stator turns.

  • Patent number: 7091626
Abstract: A method for regulating a generator in a motor vehicle, in which the generator feeds a vehicle power supply system having loads and having at least one battery, with a regulator regulating the generator output voltage at the value of a nominal value voltage. In a recuperation readiness mode, the nominal value voltage is preset as a function of the driving state variables such that, during braking or when the vehicle is overrunning, electrical power is fed into the vehicle power supply system. Switching takes place between the recuperation readiness mode and a recovery mode as a function of predetermined switching conditions, with the nominal value voltage in the recovery mode being preset such that the battery is regenerated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for regulating a generator in a motor vehicle, in which the generator feeds a vehicle power supply system having loads and having at least one battery, with a regulator regulating the generator output voltage at the value of a nominal value voltage. In a recuperation readiness mode, the nominal value voltage is preset as a function of the driving state variables such that, during braking or when the vehicle is overrunning, electrical power is fed into the vehicle power supply system. According to the invention, switching takes place between the recuperation readiness mode and a recovery mode as a function of predetermined switching conditions, with the nominal value voltage in the recovery mode being preset such that the battery is regenerated.

  • Patent number: 6418899
Abstract: An electric drive arrangement for internal combustion engines in motor vehicles having an electric starter coupled to the internal combustion engine, and an electric generator drive connected with the internal combustion engine. The arrangement is connected to a supply battery via a semiconductor circuit arrangement, which determines the operation of the generator either in a generator mode or a motor mode. An electronic control device is used for controlling the starting operation of the internal combustion engine as a function of the signal of at least one temperature sensor with the aid of the generator operated as a motor, either alone or together with the starter. This arrangement makes it possible to achieve quicker and more comfortable starting operations in combination with lower pollutant emissions. The starting operations can be carried out reliably even at very low temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6384489
Abstract: In an energy supply circuit for a motor vehicle on-board electrical system with two voltage supply branches at different voltage levels, the first voltage supply branch can be fed by way of an electric direct voltage converter by the second voltage supply branch and the second voltage supply branch can be fed by a generator. A multi-level controller W3 with three voltage levels is provided whose first in/output is connected with the second voltage supply branch, whose second in/output is connected with the first voltage supply branch and whose third in/output is connected with the energy accumulator B1 assigned to the first voltage supply branch.

  • Patent number: 6329797
Abstract: An energy supply device for an electromagnetic valve control of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a motor vehicle. The supply device has a generator which can be mechanically coupled to the internal combustion engine. A rectifier circuit which is assigned to the generator, has a first diode arrangement, as an anode part, and a second diode arrangement, as a cathode part, and to which a supply output is connected, and an electrical energy store. The electrical energy store is connected to the output of the third diode arrangement, and the energy supply device has a controllable DC/DC converter, which is connected on the one hand to the third diode arrangement and on the other hand to the supply output. As an alternative to the third diode arrangement, the DC/DC converter may be coupled in parallel with a voltage regulator and a diode to the first diode arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6005786
Abstract: A circuit is provided for an alternator of a motor vehicle with the winding of the alternator consisting of two half-windings, with rectification of the voltages and currents at the outputs of the two half-windings taking place, with the outputs of one half-winding being connected with the inputs of a first rectifier, and with the outputs of the other half-winding being connected with the inputs of another rectifier, and with each output of one half-winding being connectable across the gaps of two switchable elements with two outputs of the other half-winding in each case such that when the gaps are bridged, the two half-windings are connected electrically in series. In a method for triggering the switchable elements, the individual thyristors are triggered in succession and/or only individual transistors are triggered, with this preferably taking place when a certain motor rpm is undershot. Diodes c an also be used instead of individual thyristors.
