Abstract: An oligomerized polyorganosiloxane cocondensate which may be obtained, in part, by mixing an water-soluble amino-functional organosilane represented with at least one of the followoing: a fluoro-functional organosilane, an organosilane, and an organosilane. The cocondensate may be used, for example, in a method of treating surfaces.

Abstract: The present invention relates to surface-modified fillers obtained by mixing a filler with water, adding an water-based organosiloxane composition with very thorough mixing, wherein the organosiloxanes are soluble in water and contain, in addition to OH groups, at least one amino-functional group and optionally a functional group from the series consisting of alkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl, glycidyl ether alkyl, acryloxyalkyl and methacryloxyalkyl, and wherein a functional group is bonded to each silicon atom of the organosiloxane, and drying the mixture. The present invention also provides a process for the surface modification of fillers, their use and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer compositions which include the surface-modified fillers.

Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous alcoholic fluoroalkyl functional group containing organopolysiloxane composition, which includes organopolysiloxanes of formula I: RO{Si(A)(CH3)z(OR)1−zO}a{Si(B)(R2)y(OR)1−yO}b{Si(C)(CH3)O}c{Si(D)(OR)O}dR.(HX)e  (I) wherein A, B, C, D, R, R2, X, z, y, a, b, c, d and e are defined in the claims. The present invention also provides methods for making the fluoroalkyl functional group containing organopolysiloxane composition as well as methods of using same.

Abstract: Modified pearl luster pigments for waterborn coating systems, based on a platelet-form substrate coated with metal oxides and, located on the topmost metal oxide layer, a top layer consisting of at least two oxides and/or mixed oxides from the group consisting of silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide, cerium oxide, titanium oxide and zirconium oxide, and on a water-based oligomeric silane system. Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for neutralizing and reducing the residual halogen content in alkoxysilanes and alkoxysilane-based compositions, which includes treating an alkoxysilane having a residual content of acidic halide, or a corresponding alkoxysilane-based composition, with metallic magnesium in the presence of an alcohol and separating off the resulting solids.

Abstract: Mixtures of catenate and cyclic siloxane oligomers of formula I and II ##STR1## wherein the substituents R consist of 3-methacryloxypropyl or 3-acryloxypropyl groups and methoxy, ethoxy and/or propoxy groups alone or together with C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, fluoroalkyl, isoalkyl or cycloalkyl groups and/or C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 aryl groups and where not more than one 3-methacryloxypropyl or 3-acryloxypropyl group is attached to one silicon atom and the degree of oligomerization of compounds of the formula I is within the range 2<m<25 and of compounds of the formula II is within the range 2<n<8 and the quotient of the molar proportion of Si/alkoxy groups is .gtoreq.0.5.

Abstract: Organopolysiloxane containing compositions are prepared by mixing an organopolysiloxane containing an aminoalkyl group, an organopolysiloxane containing a fluoroalkyl group, and optionally, organopolysiloxanes containing alkyl groups, together with water, or a water/acid mixture, or a water/acid/alcohol mixture, where the mixture is adjusted to have a pH in the range of 1-8, then removing the alcohol already present or formed during reaction.
