  • Publication number: 20050252997
Abstract: In a control valve for lubricating channels of motor vehicles, wherein a control element is associated with a control opening and biased by a first actuating member to an end position sealing the control opening and by means of a second actuating member which acts in an opposite direction, the pressure effective on the control element by lubricant via the control opening acts thereon in a perpendicular manner in relation to the direction of displacement of the control element so that no axial force is effective on the control element, the second actuating member consists of a memory metal which is activated at a predetermined temperature to move the control element out of its closing position against a stop element which is replaceably mounted on the valve housing.

  • Patent number: 4930792
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for sealing a stationary timing housing cover at the end face of an internal-combustion engine housing comprising cylinder head and crankcase. The timing housing cover is composed of a cylinder head side and a crankcase side cover part, between which an elastomer profile seal element is retained under compressive stress. The seal element exhibits a sealing lug oriented at right angles to the separating line to seal the end face contact surface of the internal-combustion engine housing in the plane of the separating line running between cylinder head and crankcase in the region of the adjacent edges of cylinder head, crankcase, cylinder head gasket located between the two latter, and the cover parts. The cylinder head gasket is provided with a flowable sealing medium applied bead-fashion on its end edge which faces the timing housing cover.

  • Patent number: 4598671
Abstract: A ventilating system on an internal-combustion engine is described that has balancer shafts for the balancing of mass of the second degree, the balancer shafts are driven by a crankshaft via a toothed belt in a clutch housing into which fresh air is blown via an inlet opening for cooling purposes. For an improved direct cooling of the toothed belt, at least one air guiding duct is connected to the inlet opening. This air guiding duct is formed by ribs and has at least one outlet opening in the direct area of the toothed belt from which air blows out in a targeted manner onto the toothed belt.

  • Patent number: 4523916
Abstract: An axially flexible drive disc of sheet-metal for vehicle propulsion includes a centrally disposed flange for attachment to the end of the drive shaft of the vehicle propulsion engine and is connected at its external circumference at a few, preferably three, fastening points, located evenly distributed around the periphery, to the input element of the adjacent gearbox. The gear box includes a hydrodynamic torque converter as the input element with the converter housing simultaneously assuming the flywheel function for the vehicle propulsion engine.
