An engine including a rotor and a stator, in which a combustion chamber is defined in the stator and a fluid receiving chamber is defined in the rotor, in which combustion gas can expand from the combustion chamber into the receiving chamber, whereby momentum is transferred from the combustion gas to the rotor.
