  • Patent number: 6845859
Abstract: A mobile feeder has a distributor conveyor band which is adjustable in at least a height direction. The distributor conveyor band is connected to a carrier frame and can be removed with the carrier frame from the mobile feeder. The mobile feeder is equipped with a mounting device for the distributor conveyor band. The mounting device at least temporarily is provided at the mobile feeder, can be set on the ground, and engages the carrier frame from below. Matching connection assemblies releasably connect the carrier frame to the mounting device. Drive assemblies at the mounting device adjust the carrier frame relative to the mobile feeder to a ground contact position of the distributor conveyor band.

  • Patent number: 6725996
Abstract: A mobile feeder B has a distributor conveyor band V which at least is adjustable in height direction. The distributor conveyor band V is connected to a carrier frame T and can be removed with its carrier frame T from the mobile feeder B. The mobile feeder is equipped with a mounting device M, M′ for the distributor conveyor band V. The mounting device at least temporarily is provided at the mobile feeder, can be set on the ground 20 and engages from below under the carrier frame T. Matching connection assemblies A1, A2, A3, A1′, A2′, A3′ releasably connect the carrier frame T to the mounting device. Drive assemblies Z, Z1 at the mounting device and/or at the distributor conveyor band V serve to adjust the carrier frame relative to the mobile feeder to a ground contact position of the distributor conveyor band (V).

  • Patent number: 5921708
Abstract: A pavement-vehicle convoy for applying a cover layer of a paving material on a traffic area, such as a roadway. The convoy has at least two independently driven units with at least one of the units being a road-surface finisher and each other unit in the convoy being either a finisher or a charger. One of the units is a command unit that has a remote control used to help maintain a predetermined desired longitudinal distance between the convoy units and which can be used to help maintain a predetermined desired lateral distance from a reference line. The remote control includes a speed correcting device that utilizes signals from a distance sensor on at least one of the units that is used to detect changes from the desired distance so that speed correction signals can be generated and provided to an operation control device on at least one of the units.

  • Patent number: 5846022
Abstract: In an apparatus (G) for laying road pavement layers composed of first and second pavement material grades, there are provided at least one road finisher (F', F1, F2) comprising a material hopper, and a feeder (B) arranged upstream thereof and including a bulk material hopper (2) for the first pavement material grade (A) as well as a longitudinal conveying means (3, 4), wherein in the apparatus (G) the sole road finisher (F') comprises a second material hopper (29) for the second pavement material grade (B1) or a second road finisher comprising a material hopper (29') for the second pavement material grade (B1) is provided behind a first road finisher (F1), and the feeder (B) comprises a superstructure (6) extending above the bulk material hopper (2) and the first longitudinal conveying device (3, 4) and including a second longitudinal conveying and intermediate storage device (7, 10, 14) which extends either up to and over the second material hopper (29) of the sole road finisher (F') or the material hopper (

  • Patent number: 4759657
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method for controlling the vertical adjustment of a levelling and compacting plank drawn by a road-construction machine. During the working procedure the level of the plank, which is in floating contact with the material, is adjusted automatically. The present invention aims at preventing undesirable lifting of the plank caused by material which is located ahead of the plank and the flowability of which was changed due to an interruption in the motion of the machine. Hence, the invention employs the feature that, when the travelling mechanism is switched on, lifting of the plank, which is blocked against lowering when the machine is standing still, is blocked as well and that the blocking is eliminated only after a predetermined period of time.
