  • Patent number: 10508619
Abstract: Various embodiments may include a method and a control device for operating a tank venting system of an internal combustion engine. For example, a method for operating an engine may include: activating a scavenge air pump disposed in a regeneration line with a fuel vapor retention filter; upon reaching a constant speed of an impeller of the scavenge air pump conveying the scavenge air, detecting a pressure upstream of the scavenge air pump and a pressure downstream of the scavenge air pump; calculating a differential pressure across the scavenge air pump; determining the degree of loading of the fuel vapor retention filter based at least in part on the differential pressure; and adjusting a fuel injection time based on the degree of loading.

  • Patent number: 9946269
Abstract: A method for operating a switch valve which opens and closes a fluid line is disclosed. The switch valve is actuated by a pulse width modulated signal. The switch valve is actuated outside of the active operating time of the switch valve using PWM signals with an increasing or decreasing duty cycle. The duty cycle in which the switch valve is opened is determined, and the duty cycle corresponding to the opening time is then used to actuate the switch valve to open and close the switch valve during the active operating time of same. In this manner, the switch valve can be actuated in a particularly precise manner.

  • Publication number: 20150369685
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining the opening point PO of a two-position valve (1) controlled by a pulse width-modulated signal (6), the method including the following steps: controlling the valve (1) by a pulse width-modulated test signal ST having a duty cycle R growing as a function of time T; and detecting an opening of the valve (1) by observation of a variation in the time of a detection signal S provided by a pressure signal (7) measured by a pressure sensor (2) arranged in a pipe (4, 5) connected to the valve (1) and noted at a moment to of the variation of the detection signal S, the opening point PO being the duty cycle R of the test signal ST at the noted moment to.
