  • Patent number: 9645564
Abstract: A method for operating an automation system having a CPU unit that is provided for processing a control program for controlling a technical process, wherein a power supply module of the automation system supplies electric energy to units that consume electric energy. During the control of the process, the energy consumption is optimized, such that the necessary automation functions for controlling the technical process are maintained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 2008
Date of Patent: May 9, 2017
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Udo Doebrich, Roland Heidel

  • Publication number: 20100212014
Abstract: A method for detecting a service prevention attack on a first communication terminal, wherein the detection of the service prevention attack is performed by the first communication terminal. The first and at least one second communication terminal comprise communication subscribers in a communication network. The communication connection is provided between the first and the second communication terminals. If the first communication terminal does not receive a status inquiry message of the second communication terminal in a timely manner, receipt of at least one further message indicating that the sender is the second communication terminal is interpreted as a service prevention attack on the first communication terminal and an action is taken, such as all or a plurality of packets are deleted from the input buffer memory or the connection between the two communication terminals is terminated.

  • Patent number: 7702102
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for data transmission, comprising the following steps: first data from a stochastic process is inputted into at least a first and a second subscriber of a communication network; and a symmetrical key is produced on the basis of the first data in both the first and the second subscriber, and stored in the same, for an encoded data transmission between said subscribers.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6889099
Abstract: A distributed control system having system components (1, 2, 3). The positions of the system components (1, 2, 3) are stored in respective memories (11, 12, 13) as component-specific data, which represent the spatial coordinates of the positions. The system components (1, 2, 3) transmit their respective positions to a configuration unit (4) via a communications channel (5). By means of a layout plan, e.g., in the form of a piping and installation diagram, the component-specific data of the individual system components (1, 2, 3) is assigned to the configured system components. In addition, a respective physical address is assigned to each of the system components (1, 2, 3). This achieves simple and reliable configuration of the system components (1, 2, 3). The distributed control system is used, in particular, in process apparatuses.
