  • Patent number: 5290009
Abstract: A self-venting rapid connection-release coupling for pressurized gas lines, and in particular compressed air lines, has a coupling socket (1) and a coupling plug (2). The coupling socket is provided with two locking devices (22, 23) for the coupling plug (2), and these devices can be released in succession by a motion, in the same direction, of a slider sleeve (30) on the coupling socket (1). Moving the slider sleeve from a start or coupled position to an intermediate position, a first locking device (22) is released, but the slider sleeve (30) is arrested by a locking element (47), and the plug is held by the second locking device (23). The lockig element (47) is controlled as a function of the gas pressure in the coupling plug (2), until the gas pressure in the coupling plug (2) and the line to the severed compressed air line has been reduced by venting through venting conduits (51, 53).

  • Patent number: 4174730
Abstract: A housing which can be employed equally for air service units such as a water separator, a pressure regulating valve and a filter/pressure reducer, includes a body member in the form of a cube having perpendicularly related first, second and third opposing sidewalls, the body member having a flow passage with an inlet and outlet thereof disposed co-axially and being respectively located in the first opposing sidewalls. A receiving chamber and valve seat are located in the path of the flow passage, and the bottom member has a bore for guiding the valve body of the pressure regulating valve or of the filter/pressure reducer for controlling flow through the passage as the valve body engages the valve seat. A bayonet connection union is located on one of the second opposing sidewalls for interconnection with a collector bowl of the water separator or of the filter/pressure reducer or for interconnection with a closure lid of the pressure regulating valve.

  • Patent number: 4146059
Abstract: A housing includes a plastic member having a central opening, and a reinforcing element of wholly rigid and imperforate material in the form of a hollow sleeve imbedded within the member. This sleeve is coincident with the opening and has an outer end flush with an outer end of the member. A first inner wall portion of the sleeve adjacent such one end has a diameter equal to the diameter of the central opening, and this first inner wall portion being threaded for engagement with a threaded object to be connected to the housing. The sleeve has a second inner wall portion of a diameter greater than the diameter of the opening so as to define an annular space which is occupied by a portion of the plastic member.

  • Patent number: 4094384
Abstract: A system for connecting and locking a collector bowl to a connecting housing attached to an air conditioning device. The collector bowl, near its open end, is provided with radially outwardly extending multiple counter-lugs, and the connecting housing, near its open end, is provided with inwardly extending multiple lugs. When the open end of the collector bowl is fitted within the open end of the connecting housing, the counter-lugs are moved past the lugs due to the (discontinuity) areas therebetween and the collector bowl is twisted to produce a connecting engagement between the lugs and the counter-lugs. Snap projections on the collector bowl or spring-load latching parts on the connecting housing, appropriately located, can function to lock the collector bowl to the connecting housing by preventing disengagement of the lugs and counter lugs.
