    Abstract: The invention relates to a surgical coupling system which comprises first and second surgical coupling devices each having at least two electrical coupling contacts that are moveable mechanically into engagement with one another. The coupling devices are completely separated from each other in a separated position and are mechanically in engagement with one another in a mechanical coupling position.
