  • Publication number: 20100245017
Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing a multi-layer transformer winding. During or after the winding of a conductor layer around a winding body, a layer of electrically insulating material can be applied on the radially outer surface thereof. • Publication number: 20060099337
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for curing coils 16 which have been produced by a winding method, a coil 16 initially being arranged in an oven 12 for curing. The coil 16 is heated up to a predeterminable temperature and rotated about its longitudinal axis 32 to avoid dripping of resin. The conductor or conductors of the coil 16 is or are flowed through by current, in particular by direct current, and heated in this way. The invention also relates an arrangement for curing coils 16, with which the method according to the invention can be carried out.

  • Patent number: 6778060
Abstract: A winding for a transformer or coil includes a ribbon electrical conductor and at least one ribbon insulation material layer fitted thereto or applied as ribbon material thereto. The conductor and the insulating material layer are wound to form turns around a winding core along a winding axis. The individual turns of the winding have a predetermined winding angle with respect to the winding axis. A number of turns are located axially alongside one another form one layer, and at least two radially adjacent layers of turns are provided. A first layer of turns is radially adjacent to a second layer produced by changing the winding direction by folding the electrical conductor and the insulating material layer. The total angle, which is produced by the folding, between the longitudinal direction of the ribbon insulating material in the first layer and the corresponding direction of the second layer corresponds to twice the winding angle.

  • Patent number: 6663039
Abstract: A presently-preferred process for manufacturing a magnetic-induction device comprises stacking a plurality of laminae to form a winding leg, a first yoke, and a second yoke, and fixedly coupling a first end of the winding leg to the first yoke. The presently-preferred process also comprises winding a length of insulated conductive cabling on the winding leg to form a phase winding after fixedly coupling the winding leg to the first yoke, and fixedly coupling a second end of the winding leg to the second yoke after forming the phase winding. Alternatively, the length of insulated conductive cabling may be wound on the winding leg after the second end of the winding leg has been fixedly coupled to the second yoke.

  • Publication number: 20020175625
Abstract: The invention discloses a low-pressure discharge lamp (1) having a discharge vessel (2) which contains mercury. To prevent mercury from being consumed, a reducing agent (20) is introduced into the discharge vessel (2), which reducing agent is such that it bonds oxygen in the temperature range between room temperature and temperatures up to 900° C. and can reduce mercury oxide.

  • Patent number: 5729081
Abstract: The invention relates to electrode coils for discharge lamps having a coiled wire (1) which is wound around by a braiding wire (2). The coiled wire (1) has both turns (II) with an essentially circular cross-section and turns (I, III) with an oval cross-section. In order to produce the bar-shaped coil according to the invention, the unit comprising the coiled wire (1), the first core wire (3) and the braiding wire (2) is wound around a second core wire (4) which is flattened in places. Unrolling of the braiding wire (2) is prevented thereby. Production of the coil is cost-effective, since only two core wires are required and the coil ends are not fused.

  • Patent number: 5614784
Abstract: The lifetime of cold-start fluorescent lamps is increased, and the ability to withstand repeated ON-OFF switching cycles enhanced by coating the electrodes with an emitter which consists of barium oxide and a small portion of metallic barium and, optionally, up to 20 mol-% of strontium oxide and a small portion of metallic strontium, preferably only up to about 5 mol-% of strontium oxide--metallic strontium. To make the emitter, barium carbonate, optionally mixed with strontium carbonate, is applied in paste form to the electrodes which, when coated, are introduced into an envelope and sealed therein. The envelope is then evacuated, and the electrodes are heated, thus converting the barium carbonate to barium oxide and metallic barium, and the strontium carbonate, if present, to strontium oxide and metallic strontium, so that the electrodes will be coated with barium oxide, optionally strontium oxide, and metallic barium and optionally metallic strontium.
