  • Publication number: 20230221155
Abstract: A method determines a measured quantity relating to the flow of a fluid through a measuring tube, in two propagation directions, and a receive signal is captured. A transit time difference is determined depending on the position of the main maximum of a cross-correlation of the receive signals. Whereupon the measured quantity is determined depending on the transit time difference, and the transmitting ultrasonic transducer is controlled in each case with an excitation signal. The excitation signal has a fixed carrier frequency. The excitation signal has a phase shift and/or an envelope with a plurality of temporally spaced maxima, and/or, if a trigger condition is fulfilled, the fulfilment of which depends on the height of the main maximum and/or of at least one secondary maximum of the cross-correlation. The determination of the measured quantity is modified compared with a normal operating mode and/or a message is output.

  • Publication number: 20090151848
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for bonding components made of high silica material by way of integral joining by forming a high-silica bonding mass between connecting surfaces of the components. A method is provided which permits an inexpensive production of a mechanically and thermally stable composite of components made of a high silica material, particularly for large-area bonded connections for which a contact pressure of more than 5 N/cm2 is applied while the connecting surfaces are being fixed, and/or the path length for possible degassing products from the bonded connection is more than 150 mm. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the SiO2 bonding mass is used in dry form either right from the beginning or at least the SiO2 bonding mass is dried on the connecting surfaces before the joining process and the surfaces to be bonded are subsequently brought into contact and a firm composite is created by way of heating with formation of a SiO2 containing bonding mass.

  • Publication number: 20090064715
Abstract: In a known method for drawing a tubular quartz glass strand, a crucible is fed with SiO2-containing start material, the start material is softened in the crucible and, as a softened quartz glass mass, is drawn vertically downwards as a tubular quartz glass strand along a drawing axis through an annular gap between an outer member and an inner member, which is arranged in a through hole of the outer member, of a drawing nozzle provided in the bottom area of the crucible.

  • Patent number: 4519185
Abstract: In order to realize a device for the deflection of a continuous film web folded in its axial midline in a packaging machine for wrapping a number of sequentially fed objects in which the two film web halves, making flat contact with each other, are fed in a vertical plane located parallel to the feed direction of the objects and are separated in a roof-like manner along a ridge edge extending parallel to the feed direction--and in order to obtain an adaptation to objects of different size vertical to the feed plane on the edges of a guide extending parallel to the feed direction, it is proposed that the guide comprise two guide rails parallel to the feed direction which are inserted opposite to the feed direction into the space between the two roof areas and the top layer and which by their free ends define the lower corners of the triangular area, and that the spacing of the guide rails as well as the vertical distance between the guide elements defining the ridge edge and the guide rails are adjustable.

  • Patent number: 3943434
Abstract: An improved arrangement for measuring temperatures in which a bridge containing two temperature dependent resistances is used. A first branch of the bridge consists of a parallel connection of two series circuits each consisting of a constant resistance and a temperature-dependent resistance and a second branch of the bridge consists of a series circuit of two constant resistances. Means are provided to impress a constant current on the first bridge branch so that the current divides between the two constant resistances at the input and flows out between the two temperature dependent resistances. At the second bridge branch, a voltage corresponding to the voltage generated in the first bridge branch is impressed. A junction of the second bridge branch is at the same potential as the current sink of the first bridge branch.
